Short Story Excerpt for Colourised Level 1:
Rushing past the darkened doorway of a giant overturned Snortnail’s shell, now long abandoned and covered in clinging moss, Flit raced along a giant branch that was wide enough to be a path through the canopy.
Leaves of vibrant red and orange curled their faces against the colourless sky, afraid to see the colours of the world disappearing. Bulberries and Hornnuts fell around Flit, bouncing to the glade floor far below, and some he saw, were changed things, darker and rougher than usual, and bigger. Some hissed a sound as Flit ran past.
The fallen fruits of the Forever tree were becoming Bitterlings.
“They are falling under Grayscales spell too, it seems”. Flit said worriedly while evading the flicking root of a small Branchlet that had lashed out towards him with a snarl.
“I need to find the Wolpertings”, he puffed “If they haven’t fled the canopy, surely they will know a way to combat this evil magic”.
