Pipeline Builder builds and destroys automatically an AWS CodePipeline for every Pull-Request of a Github project (repository). The CodePipeline has the following steps:
- Pull from Github
- Build the code
- Create a stack for end-to-end testing
- Run a (possibly empty) set of end-to-end tests.
- Destroy the test stack.
- (Optional) Create a new (final) stack to run your service in production.
Given:
- A project with a structure defined by a CloudFormation template
- A Github repository containing the code
Then pipeline-builder does the following:
- Create/Destroy a CloudFormation stack for any branch in Github by running the tool locally at the user's computer
- Create/Destroy a CloudFormation stack for any branch in Github by using a dedicated RestAPI
- Create a CloudFormation stack automatically when a new Pull Request is opened
- Delete a CloudFormation stack when a new Pull Request is closed
