Storing secrets in AWS

Each secret is characterized by:

1. A Secret name
2. A Secret key.
3. An encrypted value

Note 1: We can store multiple key-value pairs under the same name. We can have for example a Secret with name "infrastructure" and and store in the following key value pairs

Note 2: You can use an online site to generate a random password such as this one

1. Navigate to AWS console
2. Navigate to Secrets Manager
3. Click to "Store a new secret"
4. Select "Other type of secrets:"
5. Enter the secret key (not the name!!) and value.
6. Enter the secret name.
7. Proceed until you have stored the secret

Note 3: To add a new key-value pair on an existing secret, navigate to the secret and select retrieve secret value and then edit.
