Free, offline-first Bible study desktop app for Windows (Tauri + Rust + React).

What's new in 2.4.0

  • Library: browse and install free Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, devotionals and classic books from the CrossWire library (about 400 modules, 126 in English). Installed items appear in the normal reader and panels. Study → Library.
  • Pictures: Bible art by Gustave Doré, James Tissot and Sweet Publishing, each picture linked to its passage. Download only the collections you want. Explore → Pictures, or "Pictures" beside a chapter title.
  • Side by side: read a whole chapter in up to four translations, verse by verse.
  • Hebrew & Greek search: find every place a Hebrew or Greek word is used and narrow it by grammar (tense, stem, case…). Explore → Hebrew & Greek search.
  • Word Study now shows entries from Greek and Hebrew lexicons installed from the Library.
  • Notes on several verses, with tags, and a tag filter in My Study.
  • The chapter heading and its buttons stay at the top while you scroll.
  • Automatic updates: from this version on, the app offers new versions itself (Settings → Updates).
  • Natural read-aloud voice is now a one-time download (about 200 MB, Settings → Read aloud), which makes the installer much smaller. Until it's downloaded, Listen uses Windows' built-in voice.
  • Settings → Diagnostics: an error log to include when reporting a problem.
  • Fixes: the Compare translations panel used only half its width; in Hebrew chapters the verse buttons covered the first words.

Downloads

  • BibleConcordance_2.4.0_x64-setup.exe: NSIS installer (recommended)
  • BibleConcordance_2.4.0_x64_en-US.msi: MSI installer

Windows 10/11, 64-bit. If you have 2.3.0 or older, install this version once by hand; later versions will then be offered inside the app. Your notes, highlights and bookmarks are kept.

The installer is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen will warn on the first run: click "More info" → "Run anyway". (Updates themselves are signed and checked by the app before they're installed.)

The other files (.sig, latest.json, voice-windows-x86_64-v1.zip) are used by the app for updates and the voice download. You don't need to download them.

Free to use by anyone for personal, educational, church or ministry use. See NOTICE.md in the repo for full licence and attribution details of every bundled text and dataset.
