Bible Concordance 2.6.1
Bible Concordance 2.6.1 — easier to read: your own light or dark theme, text colour and contrast.
Visible buttons and headings
- The buttons beside each chapter heading (Pictures, Listen, Side by side, Study sheet, Copy chapter) were so pale on the light page that they only showed when the mouse was over them. They are now clearly visible, as are the same small buttons in the side panels, the book reader and Settings.
- The pale grey used for section headings and small labels is darker in light mode and lighter in dark mode, so it is easy to read everywhere.
Settings → Appearance (new)
- Theme: Match Windows, Light or Dark. The window's title bar follows it.
- Text colour: Standard, Strongest (black, or white in dark mode), Warm sepia or Blue-black.
- Contrast: Standard or High. High makes every grey heading, label and hint almost as strong as the text.
- Back to the standard look undoes all three.
Installed copies of 2.4.0 or newer will offer this update themselves.
The Android phone app is a separate download: see the android-v… releases.
Nature backgrounds for verse pictures (v1)
Nature backgrounds for verse pictures (Bible Concordance for Android, 0.3.0 and later)
100 photos — lakes, rivers, mountains, the sea, sunrises and sunsets, waterfalls, forests, deserts, snow, clouds, stars, flowers, fire, deer, eagles, sheep, horses, birds and more — that the phone app downloads once, when the reader first chooses Nature in a verse picture.
Every photo is CC0 (public-domain dedication) from Wikimedia Commons, so a verse picture made over one can be shared anywhere, with no credit needed. Each photo's source page is listed in backgrounds.json inside the zip.
This is not an app release. The Windows app's updates come from the latest v… release.
Bible Concordance for Android 0.3.2 (Beta)
Bible Concordance for Android 0.3.2 (Beta) — the offline Bible companion for Android phones.
This is the phone app only. The Windows app is a separate release (see the newest v… release).
New in 0.3.2
- The app looks for new versions itself. Once a day, when you open it, it checks whether a newer version is out and offers it. Tap Install: it downloads the update, checks that it arrived whole, and hands it to Android, which asks you to confirm. Your bookmarks, highlights and notes are kept.
- The first time, Android asks you to allow Bible Concordance to install apps. That is the same switch you allowed for your browser when you first installed it.
- It can be turned off under More → Updates, where there is also a "Check now" button. Nothing about you or your phone is sent; the app only reads a small public file.
Everything from 0.3.0 is here too: word study, study notes, verse pictures, 1,200+ more translations, side by side, the daily reminder and reading streak, voices and a sleep timer, appearance, and tags.

Bible Concordance 2.6.0
Bible Concordance 2.6.0 — read aloud now shows and follows what it is reading.
Read aloud
- The sentence being spoken is highlighted, in Library books and inside long Bible verses. The verse highlight is now clearly visible in dark mode.
- The page scrolls along with the reading. Scroll away yourself and it stops following; press Back to where it's reading to pick it up again.
- Start anywhere: point at a paragraph of a book and press the small speaker beside it, or right-click a paragraph or a verse and choose Listen from here.
- The player can skip a sentence or a whole paragraph (or verse), and has a sleep timer: 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or the end of the chapter.
- Keys while it reads: Space pauses and continues; ← and → skip a sentence.
- A book remembers where the reading stopped: Continue listening carries on from that sentence.
Bookmarks in books
- Your own bookmarks in a Library book, as many as you like, each with an optional name. They are listed at the top of the book's Contents and under My Study → Bookmarks, and are included in the My Study backup.
Installed copies of 2.4.0 or newer will offer this update themselves.
The Android phone app is a separate download: see the android-v… releases.

Bible Concordance v2.5.0
Free, offline-first Bible study desktop app for Windows (Tauri + Rust + React).
What's new in 2.5.0
- Sermon builder (Study → Sermon builder). Type what the sermon is about: a topic, several topics separated by semicolons, a passage by name or reference, or a plain sentence. The app gathers key passages, supporting verses, cross-references, commentary, dictionary and topical articles, word studies, your own notes and passages from your books. You tick what to keep, arrange it under headings in a shape you choose, add your own notes, and print it or save it as a Word document. It finds and lays out the material; it does not write the sermon. That is the preacher's work.
- A fuller Scripture search for the builder. It looks for your exact words first (in every bundled translation), then every form of each word, then verses with most of the words, and it uses everything the topical Bibles list for the subject. For 27 common subjects it also brings a checked list of core passages. Each passage says why it was found.
- Saved sermons, with a series name and the date preached. Sermons are grouped by series with the passages each series has covered, and are included in My Study → Export.
- Scanned e-books import cleanly. The automatic e-books from the Internet Archive now lose their page headers and page numbers, and their chapters are rebuilt from the page headings.
If you already have 2.4.x, the app offers this update itself (or use Settings → Updates → Check for updates now).
Downloads
- BibleConcordance_2.5.0_x64-setup.exe: NSIS installer (recommended)
- BibleConcordance_2.5.0_x64_en-US.msi: MSI installer
Windows 10/11, 64-bit. If you have 2.3.0 or older, install this version once by hand; later versions will then be offered inside the app. Your notes, highlights, bookmarks and books are kept.
The installer is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen will warn on the first run: click "More info" → "Run anyway". (Updates themselves are signed and checked by the app before they're installed.)
The .sig files and latest.json are used by the app's updater. You don't need to download them. The natural read-aloud voice (a one-time download inside the app) is still the one attached to the v2.4.0 release.
Free to use by anyone for personal, educational, church or ministry use. See NOTICE.md in the repo for full licence and attribution details of every bundled text and dataset.
Bible Concordance v2.4.2
Free, offline-first Bible study desktop app for Windows (Tauri + Rust + React).
What's new in 2.4.2
- More places to download from. Library → Get more now has a From selector: CrossWire, eBible.org (about 1,500 Bibles in a very wide range of languages), the NET Bible free edition, Wycliffe, and CrossWire's Attic and Beta collections. The 1933/1953 Afrikaanse Bybel is pinned at the top of the CrossWire list.
- Add your own books. Library → Add from file takes an EPUB e-book, a PDF book or a SWORD module. The app checks the whole file first and shows what it found; nothing is added until you confirm. Copy-protected, password-protected, scanned and damaged files are refused with the reason. Files stay on your computer.
- Finding your place in a book. A slider across the whole book, page numbers and "go to page" for PDF books, and every book reopens where you stopped.
- Listen from here in books: reads from the paragraph you're on and carries on through the book.
- Books in the book list. Downloaded and added books appear under Books in the left-hand list and open in the main reading area.
- Apocrypha. A Bible that includes the Apocrypha (such as the KJVA) now keeps those books; they're listed under Apocrypha while you read that Bible.
- Apocrypha cross-references. 2,990 links between the Apocrypha and the 66 books, taken from the reference notes of the Swedish Bible (1917), the World English Bible / Revised Version (1895) and the Menge-Bibel (1939). In the cross-reference graph they are drawn as their own kind of node and always marked as outside the canon of Scripture; each link names the Bible it comes from.
- Words in Bibles without word tagging (most downloaded Bibles, and side-by-side columns) now open the Hebrew/Greek words of their verse.
- Getting started window that shows where the optional extras are: the natural voice, the Library, Bible pictures and online translations.
If you already have 2.4.0 or 2.4.1, the app offers this update itself (or use Settings → Updates → Check for updates now).

Bible Concordance v2.4.1
Free, offline-first Bible study desktop app for Windows (Tauri + Rust + React).
What's new in 2.4.1
- Fix: the Study, Reference and Explore menus in the top bar opened behind the pinned chapter heading and couldn't be used while reading. They now open on top.
If you already have 2.4.0, the app offers this update itself (or use Settings → Updates → Check for updates now). For everything new in 2.4 (Library, Pictures, side-by-side reading, Hebrew & Greek search, notes on verse ranges with tags, automatic updates), see the v2.4.0 release.
