Install (Normal macOS flow)

  1. Download the latest .dmg from this release.
  2. Open the disk image and drag the app into Applications.
  3. Launch Beamo Flasher from Launchpad or /Applications.

Assisted In-App Updates

  • The app checks for a newer release at startup and every hour.
  • When an update is available, review the notes, download the checksum-verified PKG in the app, then choose Install & Restart to open macOS Installer.
  • The ZIP and latest-mac.yml remain published as release metadata, but unsigned/ad-hoc builds are not silently replaced in place.

Hosted Raspberry Pi OS Image

  • The installer does not bundle the 1.9 GB rpi.img.xz image.
  • On first launch, the app resolves the hosted image URL from the bootstrap manifest, downloads rpi.img.xz, and verifies the SHA-256 checksum before flashing.
  • The same hosted image source is used by macOS, Windows, and Linux builds.

Build Security Status

  • signing: unsigned
  • notarization: skipped

Unsigned build warning: Gatekeeper may require right-click -> Open on first launch unless signing/notarization is configured.

Unsigned prerelease warning

This manual-download prerelease is intentionally unsigned. macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen will warn before installation. It is excluded from the stable automatic-update channel, is not published to npm, and cannot later be replaced with signed assets because release immutability is enabled. No APT repository metadata is included in this prerelease; Linux users should install the downloadable .deb or AppImage directly.
