Virtual Machine Configuration Lab Journal

In the lab today, I set configured three virtual machines. I configured both a Windows and Linux Unbuntu virtual machines on the lab device and a virtual machine that can be accessed from anywhere called a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI). The configuration for the windows virtual machine was simple as it was just copying a file from a existing folder on the main machine into a folder that I use then using VMWare to open the file and the machine mostly configured itself. The Linux virtual machine gave me a little more trouble because at first I downloaded the 23.04 version of Unbuntu but had doubts since the instructions showed the 22.04 version so I ended up deleting the downloaded 23.04 version and installing the 22.04 version which cost me a small amount of time. After that the rest of the installation and configuration went smoothly. The VDI setup went perfectly as I had accessed the system for another class prior to this lab.

B) A virtual machine is software that allows for another operating system to be on a device via creating virtual desktops that simulate the physical components off of a single server. A) One of the required tasks for this lab was downloading a version of Unbuntu Linux to then be used to create a virtual machine.
B) Another task required in this lab was opening our VDI via VMWare Horizons.
