Troubleshooting
Quick answers to the things people run into most. If your issue is not here, the issue tracker is the place to report it.
Power-cycle the printer (turn it off and on) and the screen comes back. Nothing is lost.
The printer's stock screen can occasionally freeze on its own. This is a firmware quirk of the printer and also affects other custom setups for it. Bespok3d works hard to avoid it: when you install several plugins at once, it restarts the screen only once instead of once per plugin, which is what used to trigger the freeze. And if you use the Remote Screen plugin, it spots a frozen screen and restarts it for you within a second or two.
If the physical screen is ever black and does not recover on its own, a power cycle always brings it back. Your printer is not bricked.
Some guest and office networks hide devices from each other, which stops Bespok3d from finding your printer automatically. Add it by IP instead: choose Manual in the Add printer window and enter the address. You can read the address on the printer's own touchscreen, under Settings then Network.
Brief network hiccups during setup are normal. The screen shows which step stopped and offers Retry, which continues from where it left off without redoing the earlier steps. If a step keeps failing, make sure the printer is on and reachable, and that the SSH login you entered is correct.
Setup reboots the printer once, on purpose. The U1 takes a while to boot, so give it a full minute. If it still does not reconnect, check that it is powered on and on your WiFi, then use Retry.
The app rechecks each printer every few seconds. Wait one cycle, or reopen Settings then Printers to force a fresh check. If it stays yellow, open the setup log (click the setup date on the printer row) to see the last step.
They are not gone. A firmware update resets some of the printer's own files but keeps your Bespok3d plugins safe. Bespok3d notices and shows a recovery banner at the top of the window.
Click Recover now, enter your printer's SSH login, and Bespok3d puts everything back and re-applies your plugins in the right order. A summary shows what came back. If one plugin needs an update to work with the new firmware, it is paused (not lost) and the summary tells you why; check the store for a newer version.
This works because everything Bespok3d installs lives in one dedicated folder that firmware updates do not touch. Recovery is a one-click step, never a reinstall from scratch.
Some plugins depend on another (for example, the Spoolman Bridge works with the RFID reader). If you try to remove one that another still needs, the printer refuses so you cannot leave the other one stranded. Install or remove the pair together and both go cleanly.
Only plugins that add their own web page (a camera stream, for example) appear in the open-in-browser list. Hover the small arrow next to your printer in the top bar to see everything you can open. If a page does not load, confirm the plugin is installed and the printer's dot is green.
Bespok3d - open source under AGPL-3.0. Look mom, custom printer and no SSH.
