TermFold 2.2.1
TermFold 2.2.1: Debian replaces Ubuntu (use this instead of 2.2.0).
Changed
- The Linux environment is now Debian 13 (trixie), which is lighter and faster than Ubuntu. Everything else works as before:
apt, Python, Node 22, git, build tools, SSH and the agent CLIs. - Automatic move from Ubuntu. If you are updating from an earlier version, TermFold offers to switch when it starts (or later from Settings, "Switch to Debian"). It keeps your projects and files, agent sign-ins, shell history, Node.js and the agent tools you installed, then removes Ubuntu. "Later" keeps Ubuntu working for a day. A switch that gets interrupted finishes on the next start.
- After the switch, the first shell installs the developer tools again from Debian (a few hundred MB, needs a connection) and lists the apt packages you had on Ubuntu in
~/.termfold/ubuntu-packages.txt, so you can reinstall the ones you still want. Python virtual environments may need to be recreated.
Fixed
- Node.js and the agent CLIs were not found in a Debian login shell (2.2.0 only): Debian resets
PATHat login, dropping/opt/node/bin. It is now put back. - Packages whose installer creates a system user or group (for example
openssh-client) no longer fail on Android. - The setup repairs an install that was cut off half way instead of stopping.
Install over your current version. Needs about 400 MB of free space for the switch.
