Hazmat Suit

Hazmat Suit

The Hazmat Suit is a complete sealed equipment set represented by one public inventory item. Four hidden armor pieces are used internally for rendering and compatibility, but they are not intended to be collected or crafted separately.

Equipping and removal

Equipping the suit takes four seconds. The player must remain still while the timed action completes.

To remove the sealed suit, crouch and hold Use to begin the removal sequence. Removal takes three seconds and also requires the player to remain still.

Moving or releasing the required input cancels the current action. A dedicated progress bar appears above the Blink Bar.

When removal succeeds, the complete set returns as one public Hazmat Suit item. If the SCP Inventory is full, the item is dropped into the world instead of entering the vanilla inventory as overflow.

Protection

A complete sealed suit provides:

  • complete eye protection;
  • reusable sealed protection for chemical, biological, radiation, and environmental hazards;
  • rejection of compatible splash-potion and lingering-potion effects;
  • protection from external instant potion healing and damage delivered through those potion types;
  • leather-equivalent armor points.

Commands and effects deliberately applied from inside another system are not automatically rejected.

Restrictions and penalties

While sealed:

  • eating and drinking are blocked;
  • drinkable potions and cake are blocked;
  • items classified as CONSUMABLE by the SCP Inventory cannot be used;
  • ordinary walking is slower;
  • sprint movement is heavily reduced;
  • stamina is consumed twice as quickly;
  • the stamina bar is displayed in red.

The internal armor pieces are effectively unbreakable and are not repaired individually.

Audio and first-person presentation

The suit displays a first-person visor overlay while sealed.

World, block, entity, weather, and other diegetic audio is strongly muffled. Equip, removal, breathing, interface, and other internal feedback remain clear.

The breathing loop begins after the suit is sealed, stops when removal starts, and resumes when removal is canceled.
