SCP-079 — Old AI

SCP-079 can manipulate eligible facility hardware when System Control is active.

Enable it with:

/gamerule scp079controlOn true

System Control is disabled by default.

Eligible facility hardware

SCP-079 does not control every nearby door or arbitrary redstone.

An eligible heavy door must be associated with a functional control device, such as:

  • a connected facility button;
  • a Keycard Reader;
  • a Facility Pulse Node.

Bare doors and unrelated redstone do not grant SCP-079 control.

Processing power

SCP-079 uses one persistent processing-power budget shared across its facility decisions.

  • Baseline and initial power: 25 AP.
  • Maximum power: 100 AP.
  • Regeneration while System Control is active: 0.5 AP per second.
  • When System Control is inactive, surplus power decays toward 25 AP at 0.5 AP per second.

The budget is stored with the world. Restarting does not reset it or regenerate power while the world is closed.

Useful actions may occur close together while power remains, but each manipulated device also receives a reuse limit to prevent mechanical open/close loops.

Threat-aware door decisions

During a chase, SCP-079 evaluates the player, pursuer, travel direction, usable doors, and available processing power.

Depending on the situation, it may:

  • open a useful door for a pursuing creature;
  • close a door ahead of the player;
  • temporarily deny connected controls;
  • maintain a strategically useful lock by paying additional upkeep;
  • abandon an action that has become too expensive or no longer useful.

SCP-106 is recognized across its brief vanish-and-reposition window, preventing the AI from forgetting the hunt merely because the entity temporarily sinks away.

SCP-079 may also perform a rare unprovoked door closure when it has substantial spare processing power.

SCP-131 and SCP-173

When following SCP-131 instances are keeping SCP-173 stationary ahead of the player, SCP-079 can close and lock a door to separate the followers.

The followers are dismissed from the player, and SCP-079 may continue paying lock upkeep while the separation remains strategically useful and affordable.

Tesla Gates

SCP-079 may temporarily suppress an individual Tesla Gate when a useful hostile creature is inside its activation volume and pursuing a Survival player.

The AI spends more power and has a lower success chance against Emergency Override. Suppression does not change teslaGateOn or teslaGateManualOverride.

A player already inside the lethal volume prevents this intervention, so SCP-079 cannot accidentally create unexplained safe passage after the player has entered the gate.

SCP-012

When a Survival player enters SCP-012's ten-block influence range, SCP-079 may:

  1. command a functional connected Default, Yellow, or Black heavy door in the route;
  2. begin opening the SCP-012 containment box in the same tick.

Repeated attempts become increasingly expensive and less worthwhile. SCP-079 can deliberately abandon the contest when continuing no longer justifies the processing cost.

SCP-714 protects the wearer from SCP-012's mental influence but does not prevent SCP-079 from operating doors or the containment box.

Debug displays

Open Configuration Center → Debug Tools to enable:

  • SCP-079 Energy HUD — current AP and active state;
  • SCP-079 Decision Log HUD — recent executed, abandoned, or aborted decisions, with costs and context.

The decision history intentionally omits routine evaluations that choose to do nothing. These displays are disabled by default and do not enable System Control themselves.
