BlinkCode v1.4.6 — Responsive update controls

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Jul 02:18

Highlights

BlinkCode 1.4.6 fixes collisions in the top application bar and makes update controls predictable at every supported desktop width.

  • No toolbar overlap — Quick Open remains exactly centered while update, clock, workspace, terminal, AI and window controls keep a safe gap.
  • Compact update control — the update notification becomes a 30 px icon before the toolbar becomes crowded.
  • Intentional popover — update details open only on click instead of accidental hover.
  • Reliable dismissal — click outside or press Escape to close the update card.

Verification

  • Full quality gate passed.
  • Full Playwright E2E suite passed.
  • Responsive coverage validates 1440 px and the minimum 1100 px Electron window width.
  • Windows, macOS and Linux packages were built by GitHub Actions.

BlinkCode v1.4.5 — Empty projects and image previews fixed

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Jul 11:49
854bae4

Highlights

BlinkCode 1.4.5 fixes the first steps of creating a new project and restores secure image previews.

  • Start with an empty folder — an empty project now remains open and offers New File and New Folder actions directly in Explorer.
  • Images display again — PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, BMP, GIF and ICO files load through authenticated previews.
  • Markdown assets restored — local workspace images embedded in Markdown previews load securely.
  • Compact update control — the top-bar update pill remains accessible as an icon in narrow windows.

Additional fixes

  • Empty workspaces persist correctly across reloads instead of returning to Recent Projects.
  • Preview Blob URLs are revoked when files change or tabs close.
  • Image-loading failures display the existing preview error state.

Downloads

  • Windows x64: Setup installer or Portable executable
  • macOS: DMG and ZIP for Intel and Apple Silicon
  • Linux: AppImage, DEB and RPM for x64 and ARM64

All release packages and updater metadata were built by GitHub Actions after the full quality and E2E suites passed.

BlinkCode v1.4.4 — Cleaner UI and reliable project opening

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Jul 04:28
a563be9

Highlights

BlinkCode 1.4.4 makes everyday project navigation cleaner and more reliable.

  • Update notification in the top bar — the update-available notice is now a compact rounded pill with a matching popover for download, install and Auto Update controls.
  • Better dropdown menus — selectors stay aligned with their controls, remain inside the visible window and automatically open upward when space below is limited.
  • Reliable project opening — switching projects is now atomic, so an inaccessible or disappearing directory entry can no longer leave the Explorer stuck on an empty workspace.

Additional fixes

  • Broken and external symlink entries are safely omitted from the project tree.
  • Old tabs, split-editor state and pending file creation are cleared when another project opens.
  • Recent-project loading failures now appear in diagnostics instead of being silently ignored.

BlinkCode v1.4.3

BlinkCode 1.4.3 is a security and reliability release focused on protecting the local IDE runtime, improving recovery from backend restarts, and making workspace problems easier to diagnose.

Highlights

Safer local runtime

  • The BlinkCode backend now listens on the loopback interface only.
  • HTTP API and WebSocket connections require an origin-bound local session.
  • Terminal sessions are restricted to active workspace roots.
  • Built-in REST Client requests to the local BlinkCode API remain supported without exposing the session token to external hosts.

More reliable IDE sessions

  • HTTP requests automatically renew an expired local session.
  • File watcher, terminal, and language-server WebSockets recover after an unexpected backend disconnect.
  • File watcher cleanup no longer creates reconnect attempts after the related view is closed.

Better diagnostics

  • Recoverable workspace, settings, state, and recovery-buffer errors are now logged with structured context.
  • Important recoverable errors are also shown through the existing IDE notification system.
  • Repeated notifications are deduplicated to avoid toast spam.

Architecture and maintenance

  • The renderer API client is organized into file, workspace, Git, debugger, and AI domains.
  • Large frontend modules were split into focused components and hooks.
  • Previous architecture-gate exceptions were removed.
  • Product, documentation, LSP client, website downloads, and artifact names are synchronized to version 1.4.3.

Downloads

Windows

  • Setup: BlinkCode-Setup-1.4.3-x64.exe
  • Portable: BlinkCode-Portable-1.4.3-x64.exe

macOS

  • DMG and ZIP packages for Intel x64 and Apple Silicon arm64.

Linux

  • AppImage, DEB, and RPM packages for x64 and arm64 where supported.

Compatibility

Existing workspaces and settings remain compatible. The current BlinkCode extension catalog is compatible with BlinkCode 1.4.3 and newer.

Updating is recommended for all users, especially anyone running BlinkCode alongside untrusted local applications or opening third-party workspaces.
