Usage Breakdown by project & session

See which project — and which session/thread — spent what. A new resizable Usage Breakdown window groups your Claude & Codex usage by working directory and drills into individual runs.

New

• Usage Breakdown window — open with ⌘B, the chart button in the panel, or right-click the menu-bar item → Usage Breakdown. Group by project, drill into sessions; tokens for both providers, cost for Claude (Codex is plan-included). Timeframe 7d / 30d / 1y, sort by tokens / cost / recent / name, and an "Active now" badge for live sessions (auto-refreshes while open).
• Friendly session names from the CLI's own titles (Claude's ai-title), with a Settings toggle to keep it strictly content-blind.
• Settings → About now reads the version from the bundle.

Only Claude & Codex expose a project dimension locally; Cursor, Copilot and Gemini have none and are intentionally absent here. 186 unit tests, zero third-party dependencies. Full notes in CHANGELOG.md.

Install

Download Byte-Pulse.dmg below, open it, and drag Pulse into Applications. The app is open-source and ad-hoc signed (no paid Developer ID), so macOS asks once on first launch — right-click Pulse → Open to confirm. Requires macOS 26+ (Apple Silicon). Or build from source: ./scripts/build-app.sh --install.

Pulse is open source and ad-hoc signed, but not yet notarized by Apple. On the first launch macOS will block it. To allow it:

• Open it once (it will be blocked), then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → "Open Anyway", or
• Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Pulse.app

A notarized build will remove this step in a future release.
