Byte Pulse — track your AI usage (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI) right in the macOS menu bar. Free & open source.

Install

  1. Download Byte-Pulse.dmg below.
  2. Open it and drag Pulse onto Applications.
  3. Launch Pulse from Applications.

First launch (important)

Pulse is open source and ad-hoc signed, but not yet notarized by Apple. On the first launch macOS will block it. To allow it:

  • Open it once (it will be blocked), then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → "Open Anyway", or
  • Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Pulse.app

A notarized build will remove this step in a future release.

  • macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon
