We need more speed! - Async Filtering
Logger++ is dead, long live InsiKt!
It has been a long time since I first adopted Logger++ from @irsdl back in 2017. Since then I have left NCC Group and no longer have access to the repository, so there's no better time for a rewrite.
My goal for InsiKt is to rewrite the core functionality that I personally use and focus on making it as robust and efficient as possible. Logger++ had a lot of great features contributed or requested by other testers, but increased the scope of the tool in a way that was more work to maintain and more resource demanding.
Lower Memory Usage
In addition to stripping the extension down to core features, InsiKt has also been written to store as little data in memory as possible, and instead calculate or extract them from a request only when required. In testing this allowed over 10 million requests to be loaded in InsiKt at once, with a Request.Status == 200 filter taking only 20 seconds to process all entries.
More Robust Functionality
The main log processing / table logic has been rewritten from scratch. This means that table updates are much more efficient and overall processing is simply just cleaner. Filter logic has been adjusted to make using filters much more user friendly, providing immediate feedback via small tooltips instead of intrusive dialogs.
Sponsorship
Over the years I've spent hundreds of hours building this extension, and the last few months rewriting it has been no different. While it has been mainly a labor of love, if Logger++ / InsiKt has been valuable to you or helped you to earn bounties, I would be especially grateful if you would consider donating via Ko-Fi to support its future development!
