Q2 JustFaster
- Faster
print_startstart - Better
print_end- Lowers the bed to 5 mm above the bottom
- Begins a timer for idle fan shutdowns that leaves the box on
- Optionally disables unused processes so the system runs faster (you are prompted at the end of the install)
Day-to-day usage tips for Just Faster Printer (option 2) and Just Faster Box (option 3) installs.
The installer backs up your config and writes the optimised macro files. After it finishes:
- If prompted "Would you like to disable unnecessary processes? (recommended)", answering yes is safe for normal Q2 use. See Q2 FAQ for exactly what it disables.
- On 01.01.02+ firmware, saying yes to that prompt also applies a fix for the stock touchscreen's animated loading spinners, which otherwise run continuously in the background even when idle. This only stops the spinner animation — nothing else about the stock UI changes.
- Run
FIRMWARE_RESTARTfrom the Fluidd console or touchscreen.
The stock touchscreen UI is unchanged for both Just Faster Printer and Just Faster Box.
Just Faster Box is incompatible with BunnyBox — it ships its own box macros and does not use Happy Hare's MMU system. If option 3 detects BunnyBox / Happy Hare on the printer it warns you and asks:
Proceed with JFB install anyway? [y/N]:
Answering yes leaves your MMU configuration in place but removes the macros that drive it, which causes Klipper errors. Answer no and remove BunnyBox with its own uninstaller first if you actually want to switch.
Both JFP and JFB install KAMP and set up adaptive bed leveling by default.
-
G31— enables adaptive bed leveling (default state after install). EveryPRINT_STARTruns a KAMP adaptive mesh over the actual print area. -
G32— disables adaptive bed leveling for the next print only.PRINT_STARTloads the existingdefaultmesh profile instead of running a new mesh (if nodefaultprofile exists yet, it calibrates one and saves it). Useful for fast test prints or debugging.
G32 is not sticky: PRINT_END runs G31 at the end of every completed print, so adaptive meshing re-arms itself automatically. Run G32 again before each print you want to skip meshing on. You only need to run G31 manually if you ran G32 and then cancelled or never started the print — it takes effect immediately for the next print, no restart needed.
KAMP saves the adaptive mesh to the kamp profile. Your manually-saved default mesh is not overwritten by print-start meshing.
SCREWS_TILT_CALCULATE helps level the bed mechanically by measuring how much each corner screw needs to turn. On Just Faster Printer there is also a Screw_Tilt_adjust macro button in Fluidd that runs it for you; Just Faster Box and BunnyBox do not ship that button, so use the command directly there.
- Not required after every print — run it once after first setup or after moving the printer
- Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust each corner screw until all readings are within tolerance

By default, the Qidi Box heater keeps running after a print ends. To shut it off automatically:
- Open
gcode_macro.cfgin your config editor (Fluidd → Configuration). This is the file the Just Faster Box installer wrote — in the repo it is namedQ2/macros/gcode_macro-JustFasterBox.cfg, but it is installed on the printer asgcode_macro.cfg. - Find the
PRINT_ENDmacro (the commented line is around line 478) - Uncomment the
DISABLE_BOX_HEATERline:
# DISABLE_BOX_HEATER # Turn off box heater, disabled by default...
Remove the leading # so the line reads DISABLE_BOX_HEATER. Note there is a second, already-active DISABLE_BOX_HEATER further down inside CANCEL_PRINT — leave that one alone.
Save and run FIRMWARE_RESTART. The heater will now turn off at the end of every print.
