Project: CeloHT Founded: 2022 Founder: Johnny Dubic Blockchain: Celo Focus: Financial Inclusion, Education, Community Development & Environmental Impact
CeloHT began in 2022 with a simple but important observation:
Access to financial services and digital technology should not depend on where someone was born, how much money they have, or whether they already understand blockchain.
In many communities, people can have access to mobile phones and digital technology while still lacking practical access to modern financial tools, reliable financial education, and opportunities to participate in the digital economy.
CeloHT was created to explore a different approach.
Instead of treating blockchain as technology that should exist separately from everyday life, CeloHT began with a community-first question:
How can blockchain technology become useful to ordinary people?
The original concept was not to create another cryptocurrency.
It was to use existing blockchain infrastructure to help communities learn, experiment, transact, and build economic opportunities.
The Celo blockchain became an important part of this vision because of its focus on mobile accessibility and financial inclusion.
CeloHT therefore began developing around several interconnected areas:

FreClean provides a practical example of how a community-oriented business can explore CELO and cUSD payments while participating in broader entrepreneurship and financial-education initiatives.
CeloHT's development also led to another realization:
Economic development cannot be separated completely from environmental sustainability.
Communities need both economic opportunity and a healthy environment.
This became the foundation for Rebwazman, CeloHT's reforestation initiative.
Rebwazman focuses on community participation in activities such as:

CeloHT's NO_TOKEN_POLICY establishes that the project should not be presented as a token-investment opportunity.
