ARK 041D - guarded read recovery and diagnostics

Choose a tag to compare

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 18 Oct 00:22
7f00d59

ARK 041D / 0.9.42 is a Windows preview for guarded read recovery and live team diagnostics.

  • Read receipts provide concrete recovery actions. Automatic supersession needs the original native selector to be proven; other corrections require an explicit author decision at the current revision.
  • Reduced tool catalogues retain strict read identities. External Studio diagnostics expose bounded attributed evidence without another model call.
  • Nested Graphify warnings remain visible without aborting successful memory/Obsidian export. Real failures and changed source still reject publication.

The Windows installer and portable ZIP are the same immutable files tested locally. Fresh installation, 040-to-041 upgrade, relocated native CAD/STEP/save-reopen, semantic memory and packed UI checks passed. The installer is unsigned; its native control layout was checked, with no full wizard pixel-acceptance claim.

A controlled real-model recovery task passed after the model's own resolution report was accepted before its geometry edit. Both experiments count: the first exposed a catalogue-dependent defect and failed acceptance; the corrected task passed. They used 742,285 tokens in total. This is a bounded recovery result, not proof of general autonomous assembly quality or token savings.

The initial broad Studio run retained three fixture failures; corrected short output paths and the example working directory passed the isolated controls and final CTest integration. Product support for unusually long Windows paths remains limited. Internet update-feed delivery is not qualified by this preview.

See PR 23, iteration evidence, and the attached verification receipt and SHA256SUMS for exact scope and provenance.

ARK 040D / 0.9.41 - Memory protocol recovery and editor picking

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 17 Oct 23:17

040D fixes the 039D ChatGPT Responses string_above_max_length startup failure.

Install ARK-040D-windows-x64-setup.exe, or extract the complete portable ZIP and run ARK.cmd. Save your work before opening the new runtime. The offline memory model, native libraries and dependency notices are included.

  • Memory startup now uses a valid 64-character call ID. Exact legacy 84-character host pairs are recovered only when sending a request; original history is retained. Other invalid IDs reject locally with a safe field path.
  • Large-history projection preserves genuine memory tool pairs and bounded actual metadata for actions awaiting feedback. Preview recovery honours refresh_supported:false and requires a fresh explicit checked preview when needed.
  • Feature editors accept the tested Boolean base/tool sequence and browser sketch selection, with unchanged authored content on Cancel and one revision on Apply.
  • The Windows build scripts isolate their PowerShell module environment, including the binary UI-library build.

Validation: 98 core, 143 native and eight selected Studio tests passed, plus targeted PowerShell-hosting checks. A single actual synthetic ChatGPT-plan request completed with OK after legacy recovery: 836 input tokens, five output tokens, no CAD access, no model tool calls and no retries. Relocated semantic restart/q4/isolation, native save/reopen/STEP, packed-only UI and isolated fresh/039D-to-040D install/reinstall/rollback/uninstall checks passed.

PR21 and PR22 were merged after their exact-head checks passed. verification-040D.json records the runtime producer commit, subsequent build-only environment fix, merge commits and hosted runs. The ZIP/setup bytes are immutable and identified by SHA256SUMS.txt and the provenance receipt.

This remains a Windows x64 preview. Memory, Graphify/Obsidian and ark-ui.arklib remain integrated. No matched token-saving, general autonomous-design or manufacturing qualification result is claimed. The installer is unsigned; actual control layout/artwork was checked, while full wizard pixel capture and a clean-machine/user pilot remain separate gates. A trusted in-app Internet update feed is not published.

ARK 039D / 0.9.40 - Local memory and Windows setup

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 17 Oct 22:06

Superseded by 040D / 0.9.41. This preview has an oversized synthetic memory call ID that can stop Responses startup with HTTP 400 string_above_max_length; 040D repairs that protocol defect.

Windows x64 preview with a ready-to-run installer and portable ZIP.

  • ARK-039D-windows-x64-setup.exe: existing ARK logo, choose a destination, automatic per-user runtime installation and shortcuts. Includes the local memory model; no memory-service account or API key is needed.
  • ark-windows-x64-0.9.40.zip: extract the complete archive and run ARK.cmd.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt and the provenance/verification receipts identify the exact published bytes.

039D adds persistent native agent memory inspired by memXT: offline multilingual semantic and literal recall, project/shared knowledge, episodic promotion, feedback, consolidation and bounded-loss q4 vector compression. Coding and CAD agents use the same memory contracts. Graphify and verified Obsidian views remain connected through explicit source anchors. Historical memory grants no CAD edit or geometry authority.

The six original UI images are bundled as binary assets/ark-ui.arklib. Native loft/shell construction, retained onboarding and revision-safe recovery are included from 038B.

Final local checks: 98 core, 143 native and six selected Studio tests passed. A relocated package passed actual semantic restart/q4/isolation, exact native box/save/reopen/STEP and packed-only UI checks. Isolated fresh install and 038B→039D upgrade/reinstall/activation/manual rollback/uninstall passed with protected file and shortcut sentinels.

The fixed small semantic pilot achieved EN 4/4 and PT 2/3 top1; one Portuguese target ranked second. No matched real-agent token/cost saving or general design-quality result is claimed. The setup is unsigned. Its artwork and actual control layout were verified; full wizard pixel capture was unavailable. Clean-machine/user pilots and a trusted in-app Internet update feed remain separate gates. The existing Linux 032D preview is unchanged.

See docs/iterations/039D.md and docs/verification-039D.json at this release tag for the exact scope, model pins, package hashes and remaining gates. ARK source is Apache-2.0; bundled dependencies retain their own included terms.

ARK 028D / 0.9.29 - Open chat and native Grok Assistant/Team

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 14 Oct 21:23

ARK 028D / 0.9.29 opens chat on first launch and remembers later visibility choices. Windows Single Assistant and Team cards include Grok Build through the official CLI account/ACP route; choose grok-build in Connector after CLI login. The existing local Ollama schema compatibility correction is retained.

Local qualification: Windows native/Studio 132/132 passed, relocated ZIP first-launch/connector UI captures inspected, and native box/STEP export passed without the build SDK. The package contains required Apache/third-party notices and no personal drawings/settings.

Real Grok 1.0.52 / grok-4.7 created one native box atomically (10 x 12 x 4 mm, valid OCCT 8.0.1 B-rep, one solid/six faces, 480 mm3). Focused read-only Team callbacks were verified with zero writes; reviewer task completed, global goal Needs input / declared false. Four successful prompts followed ten diagnostic failures before host callbacks. All usage/cost remains unknown. See verification-028D.json for complete local/hosted/actual-model scopes and checksums.

Windows includes Studio + CLI/MCP/native worker; Linux is headless CLI/MCP/native worker only. The native Grok account transport is currently Windows-only, images are unsupported and no API/account fallback or new agent lifetime budget is introduced. General autonomous design quality, manufacturing, real-user-cohort adoption and trusted online OTA feed/signing remain separate qualification.

Production runtime source: 6b1ed5b. The tag/source checkout also includes later test-only helpers and delivery evidence; runtime files are unchanged. Existing releases/binaries are not overwritten.

ARK 027D / 0.9.28 - Ollama tool-schema compatibility

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 14 Oct 19:00

ARK 027D / 0.9.28 — Ollama tool-schema compatibility

This preview fixes a reproduced HTTP 500 before CAD tool execution. Some no-argument ARK tools have valid object schemas without a properties member; the Ollama GGUF renderer requires an explicit empty map. The adapter now supplies that map while preserving every declared constraint, extension policy, canonical MCP schema and revision/atomicity guard.

Downloads

  • Windows x64: extract the ZIP and run ARK.cmd. Includes Studio, CLI/MCP, the OCCT worker, runtime dependencies and notices.
  • Linux x64: extract the tar.gz and run bin/ark-mcp. This is a headless CLI/MCP/worker package, without graphical Studio or Linux OTA.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt identifies the distributed archives. OCCT 8.0.1 source is provided separately for the bundled shared libraries.

Validation

  • Runtime source commit: d5f3610. Release identity comes from release.json; the document/container format is unchanged.
  • Local Windows x64 MSVC Release: 129/129 native and Studio tests passed in 219.84 seconds after resolving host disk pressure. The first resource-failed execution is retained in the iteration evidence.
  • The Windows archive inventory contains the required dependency notices and no user drawings/settings. Its relocated local-model UI workflow passed at 1366x800; captures were inspected.
  • A real request to the installed Qwen GGUF model changed from the reproduced schema HTTP 500 to HTTP 200 and a kernel_info tool call when thinking was disabled.
  • Hosted verification passed 95/95 Windows native tests and 93/93 Linux native tests, plus relocated Linux package verification in a clean Ubuntu 24.04 container without the SDK. The archive receipt records the exact delivered hashes.

Observed limits

  • This fixes the schema rejection, not general local-model CAD competence. A high-effort minimal trial exceeded its diagnostic window; full-catalog scratch authoring timed out. In the reduced-catalog trial, real inspections worked, two box writes omitted native.op and were rejected at revision 0 with an unchanged document, and that trial subsequently timed out. No completed autonomous CAD result is claimed for that model/configuration.
  • Existing exact-geometry and manufacturing scope limits remain. The separate team-recovery diagnosis remains open. No geometry tolerance change, cloud fallback or runtime agent turn/token budget was introduced.
  • This is a prerelease for manual evaluation, not manufacturing qualification. The trusted online update channel and independent signing remain separate gates.

Milestones A.03/D.02/F.05 are verified only in the scope recorded by the iteration and artifact receipts; broader roadmap milestones remain partial.

ARK 016F / 0.9.17 - Open source, Windows and Linux

Choose a tag to compare

@CenturyMesh CenturyMesh released this 12 Oct 20:40

ARK is now released under Apache-2.0. Third-party terms remain separate.

  • Windows x64: Studio, CLI/MCP and native OCCT worker. Extract the ZIP and launch ARK.cmd.
  • Linux x64: headless CLI/MCP/native worker, tested on Ubuntu 24.04. Requires GLIBC_2.38 and GLIBCXX_3.4.32. Extract the tarball and run bin/ark-mcp; there is no Linux Studio GUI.
  • New README/handbook, contribution guide, issue/PR templates and roadmap.
  • Missing UI icons added; readable MCP configuration copy dialogs; provider-to-ChatGPT model reset fixed.
  • Windows67/67, Linux native65/65 and core42/42 tests passed, with isolated UI and clean-container package verification.

This is a prerelease for manual evaluation, excluded from the stable automatic updater. Windows packages are unsigned. No online upgrade, manufacturing qualification or fresh provider-login certification is claimed. Existing installations using the old update-channel placeholder need a manual upgrade.

SHA256SUMS.txt covers the binaries, manifest and the unmodified corresponding OCCT8.0.1 source archive. ARK source is available through the source archives for this tag. Keep LICENSE, NOTICE and dependency notices when redistributing.
