Features and Configuration

Supported entrances

This release supports individual vanilla doors, fence gates, and trapdoors. It intentionally does not replace vanilla blocks or promise support for third-party custom blocks.

Proximity behavior

  • Doors and fence gates use a two-block zone directly in front of and behind the entrance. The zone does not extend sideways.
  • A door is calibrated from the face where DoorControl is used, rather than Bedrock's unreliable single-door placement-direction state.
  • Trapdoors use a complete one-block perimeter, including corners.
  • One successful approach begins one open → exit → close cycle. A brief exit grace period lets a player pass through before close checking resumes.
  • The entrance closes after the final qualifying player leaves.
  • Redstone takes precedence over automatic closing; a powered entrance stays open.

Settings

DoorControl is available to all players. Crouch and use it on an entrance to toggle its Proximity setting.

Only operators can access the global world setting, using a crouch-used AdminDoorControl stick or /scriptevent andyautodoors:admin settings. Disabling the global setting leaves every entrance vanilla until it is enabled again.
