Release Notes v3.0 – Display Power Management & Dynamic Configuration
New Features & Enhancements

Short-Press Display Toggle (Power Management):
A quick short-press on BTN0 now toggles the display backlighting on and off.
When turned off, display brightness is dropped to DISPLAY_BRIGHTNESS_DIMMED to conserve battery during long war-driving runs.
Re-activating the display instantly restores full operational brightness and redraws the UI without interrupting active logging tasks.

Dynamic File-Based Configuration System (config.txt):
The application now automatically scans for /ChrisDaDriver/config.txt on the SD card at boot.
If missing—or if an older config version is detected—a new default configuration file is automatically generated and uses the User configuration of the old version.

Fully customizable options via SD card:
Hardware Pins: Custom pin mappings for GPS (RX/TX), SD card (CS/MOSI/SCK/MISO), and LoRa.
Scanner Tuning: Custom BLE scan intervals/windows and WLAN channel hop timing.
UI & Controls: Display brightness levels (active/dimmed) and long-press time thresholds.

How to Upgrade

  1. Flash the new firmware (v3.0).
  2. Boot the device with an inserted SD card; the directory structure /ChrisDaDriver/ and the default config.txt will be created automatically.
  3. Edit /ChrisDaDriver/config.txt on your SD card if custom hardware pins or scan timings are needed.
