If the suggestions kept getting in the way of asking, this is the fix.

Asking was only reachable when the suggestion list came back completely empty.
Enter always ran whatever was highlighted, and the offer to ask lived in the
"nothing matches" message. But the suggestions match on words like attendance,
marks, results and sync — the words questions are made of — so a real
question nearly always produced a suggestion, and that suggestion silently
blocked the only route that could have answered it.

In practice the question box could not be reached at all.

What changed

Asking is now a row in the list, alongside the subjects and screens, showing
your question back to you. Enter means one thing: run what is highlighted.
Ctrl+Enter asks regardless of what is selected, if you would rather not
arrow down to it.

Where TargetX can answer on its own it still does — free, offline, from your own
record — and that answer appears above the list without you pressing anything.
So the paid route is never the thing sitting under your cursor when the answer
is already on screen.

Replies from the router are visible again. "No connection" and "that is all
the questions for today" were rendered inside the "nothing matches" message,
which the change above means never appears — so they would have been shown to
nobody.

Known, and not fixed here

Ask "what happens if I miss the series exam" and TargetX answers with your
attendance budget instead, because the word miss reads as an attendance
question. That is a separate bug in how questions are classified, it predates
this release, and bending the new list ordering around it would rebuild the
trap this release removes. The ask row is visible and one arrow key away in the
meantime.

still never sent anywhere. Installed copies will be offered this automatically.

TargetX 0.3.2

If asking a question told you that you were offline, this is the fix.

The question box has never worked in a released build — and the reason was not
the question box. TargetX's own security policy listed the addresses the app is
allowed to contact, and its own router was not on the list. Every question was
refused before it left your machine, and the only thing the app could honestly
report was that it could not reach anything.

Signing in was unaffected and worked, because that runs in a different part of
the app. That is why the two halves failed differently and did not look related.

Nothing was wrong with your marks, and nothing was sent anywhere it should not
have been. The app was refusing to talk to itself.

Also fixed

• The semester strip stops at S8, and a semester can be removed. + kept
  going — S9, S10 and upwards, none of which KTU awards — and nothing would
  take them back off, so one stray press was permanent. It now names the
  semester it would add, refuses at S8 and says why, and fills a gap rather
  than counting past it. Removing is at the foot of the Semester screen, asks
  once, and names how many subjects would go with it. A published result stays
  in History either way: clearing a semester you mistyped is not a request to
  discard a grade card. (Issue #10, thanks for reporting it.)

How to check it works

Press Ctrl K and ask something the app cannot match on its own, like
"what happens if I miss the series exam?". The answer appears in the same bar,
attributed, with a link to the screen that shows the working.

Your marks, attendance and CGPA are still computed on your own machine and are
still never sent anywhere. What leaves is your question and your subject list —
nothing else. Full detail in

TargetX 0.3.1

If you are on 0.3.0, this is the build that finishes it.

0.3.0 introduced asking TargetX questions in plain words. The installer it
shipped in was built without the router the box talks to, so a phrasing it did
not recognise had nowhere to go and signing in was never offered. Everything it
answered on your own machine — attendance, what a subject still needs, what
missing tomorrow costs, what the words mean — worked, and worked offline, which
is exactly why nobody would have reported the rest as missing.

Fixed

• The question box reaches its router, and signing in is offered. Nothing
  about your marks changed, and nothing you were shown was wrong.
• The update banner you are reading about. "Install and restart" turned into
  a solid block the colour of its own text under the pointer, so the label
  vanished as you went to click it. Pressing it moved the whole app up the page.
  And a failed install put its reason in a tooltip, with the message announcing
  it stranded at the other side of the window.
• Links out of the app work — "Report a problem", including the one offered
  after a sync fails, and the privacy statement. All three did nothing.
• The timetable's Wednesday no longer sits on top of the first period.
• The download page names the installer you were actually given in its
  checksum command.

Unchanged

Your marks, attendance and CGPA are still computed on your own machine and are
still never sent anywhere. Signing in is optional, unlocks only the unmatched
phrasing, and sends your question and your subject list — nothing else.
