CLI Reference

All Tempify commands and important flags.

Help in the terminal: tempify --help, tempify <command> -h, tempify <template-id> -h

Top-level commands

Command Description
list Available templates (workspace + shared store)
info <id> Template details
doctor Check environment (paths, index, catalog)
completion <shell> Shell completion (bash, zsh, fish)
validate <id> Validate template structure
inspect <id> Show merged template graph
lint <id> Quality hints
test <id> Run template fixtures
refresh Rebuild shared-template index
reapply <id> <target> Safe update of an existing target
process / -p Pass arguments through to Prebyte
<id> [target] Render template (main command)

Render: important flags

Flag Description
--set key=value Set question/variable (highest priority)
--answers <path> Load values from JSON
--write-answers <path> Export resolved values
-f, --overwrite-if-exists Allow existing target; overwrite collisions
-s, --skip-if-file-exists Allow existing target; skip collisions
--non-interactive Fail instead of prompting
--strict Reject unknown/invalid imported values
--accept-hooks yes|ask|no Hook execution
--no-hooks Alias for --accept-hooks no
--hook-timeout-ms <ms> Hook timeout (0 = off)
--dry-run Show plan, write nothing
--plan-json Build plan as JSON
--diff Report-only diff (no hooks, no writes)
--reapply Safe reapply (see Reapply)
--report With --reapply: report only
--json JSON output (mode-dependent)
--tui Wizard frontend
-q, --questions Question overview instead of render
