ReqPack Plugin

Install and manage templates via ReqPack.

Role

The ReqPack plugin tempify treats Tempify templates like packages:

  • Read catalogs from context.repositories
  • Resolve duplicate IDs by repository priority
  • Install templates into the Shared Template Store
  • Keep index/templates.json in sync
  • Commands: search, info, list, install, installLocal, remove, update, outdated

Note: The plugin manages templates, not the Tempify binary. CLI install: rqp install rqp:tempify-cli.

Catalog format

{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "templates": [
    {
      "id": "basic_cpp",
      "name": "Basic C++ App",
      "description": "Small starter template",
      "version": "1.1.0",
      "tags": ["cpp", "starter"],
      "source": {
        "type": "git",
        "url": "https://example.test/templates/basic-cpp.git",
        "ref": "v1.1.0",
        "subdir": "template"
      }
    }
  ]
}

Required fields: id, version, source.type, source.url.

Store layout

$XDG_DATA_HOME/tempify/
  templates/<id>/
  index/templates.json
  index/reqpack-available.json
  index/reqpack-installed.json

Fallback: $HOME/.local/share/tempify

Merge rules

  • Active repositories for system tempify
  • Higher priority wins for the same template ID
  • Same priority → tie-break by repo.id
  • Cache: index/reqpack-available.json

Example

rqp search tempify cpp
rqp install tempify basic_cpp
tempify list
tempify basic_cpp my-project --set ...

Plugin development

In the repo under reqpack-plugin/:

rqp test-plugin --plugin . --preset core
