Curiosity Hacked Sparks

Curiosity Hacked Sparks is a weekly program designed for our youngest makers, around ages 4-7. Curiosity Hacked Sparks will approach the same high level of education, skill building, and self-determination in an appropriate way for the younger kids. Our Curiosity Hacked Sparks work through independent modules which will explore in an interdisciplinary manner the same concepts and skills approached on our badge tree. Same dedication to child development, high expectations, high levels of mentoring and experience.

Curiosity Hacked Sparks is driven to provide our young makers with multiple approaches to learning, while also allowing for the hands on exploration and product based learning that the young makers crave. While honoring young makers thirst for exploration and hands on learning, we will also encourage self directing learning. As young makers move through each of the units topics our goal is for them to “master”, be inspire and move beyond our “prepared /packaged“ activities into a confident, skills and produce orientated learner, who takes the skill set learned/developed/acquired begins to self direct their own learning experiences. They will accomplish this through multiple opportunities to learn and experience concepts set within a variety of formats.

Each of Curiosity Hacked Sparks units is design under a “user friendly model”, each units is design for the right and left brain thinkers. This makes unit easy to implement regardless of your foundation in STEM Education. Although unit lessons will require some pre-learning on the part of Curiosity Hacked Sparks Leaders, lesson will contain ample resources and instructions for each leader to successfully implement. There are also a number of resources for Leaders and parents to expand on their learning as well as children’s skill building process. The hope is for young makers to take the skills developed within the Curiosity Hacked Sparks environment and reproducing and expanding on these skills and concepts.
