ADR 0006 Support channel thread ticketing

ADR-0006: Every configured support-channel thread creates a ticket

Status: Accepted — implementation pending

Decision date: 8 September 2026. Decision owner: repository maintainer.

Context

Requiring mentions can miss support requests; unconfigured channels must remain outside capture.

Decision

For Slack and Teams, every top-level human message in an explicitly configured support channel creates one ticket; replies map to it. Preserve opaque string IDs, filter bot/system echoes and deduplicate subscription overlap. Teams requests channel-read resource-specific consent.

Alternatives

Rejected mention-only intake and a v1 per-channel trigger-mode toggle. The channel allowlist is the capture boundary.

Consequences

Installation needs broader consent and clear disclosure of capture scope. Missing permissions are visible setup failures, not silent partial operation. Channel/tenant renaming never changes immutable authority.

Implementation and validation

Acceptance tests and implementation tracking: #53, #54, #51. No production execution is authorised by this ADR.

Primary references
