FAQ
No. The BC-250 GPU drives the monitor. Connect the monitor to the board with a DisplayPort cable, directly, without an adapter.
No. Dual boot is not supported. Give Windows its own NVMe drive.
Windows 11 x64 Home or Pro, version 23H2, 24H2, 25H2 or 26H2, and the newer versions for everyone. Install it from the official Microsoft ISO file or the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. The board has no TPM 2.0 and no Secure Boot, so the installation stick must switch that check of Windows Setup off: Make the Windows 11 stick gives every step. Then run the driver installer, as you would run the installer of any other graphics driver. Read Installation.
Our driver is signed with our own test certificate, not with a Microsoft signature. Windows loads such a driver
only while test signing is on. The installer asks for your permission first, and it turns test signing on only
after you type YES.
While test signing is on, Windows shows "Test Mode" in the lower-right corner of the desktop. This is normal. The uninstaller can turn test signing off again.
Expect less than on Linux. Games with a kernel anti-cheat are less likely to run on this driver, and some anti-cheat systems refuse to start at all while Windows runs in test mode. We do not test anti-cheat systems, so we cannot tell you which game works.
The ASRock BC-250 only, for now. The installer checks for the GPU PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_13FE and stops on every
other computer, where it changes nothing. In the long run this is a driver for AMD GPUs, and the BC-250 is the
first board it is developed on.
Board-specific controls, for example the reservation of board memory, appear only on a BC-250. On another adapter the application shows the value and says that the control is not supported.
We do not know. Our test board runs the stock BIOS P3.00 with an 8 GB UMA frame buffer, and that is the only configuration the driver is tested on. A modded BIOS is not tested. If you use one, please say so when you report a problem.
The installer puts two shortcuts in the Start menu: "amdgpu-wddm Control" and "amdgpu-wddm Control (recovery)".
The files are in C:\Program Files\amdgpu-wddm\control.
The application has four languages: English, Polski, 日本語 and 한국어. The Japanese and Korean texts are machine translations for now.

The GPU starts at 1000 MHz. It drops to 500 MHz when nothing uses it, and the automatic clock speed raises it under load, up to the highest clock speed that you set on the Graphics page. The highest value of this release is 2000 MHz.
Heat protection is always on: from 87 °C the driver lowers the speed, and at 90 °C it holds the lowest speed until the chip is cooler. On the Performance page you can also give the case fan to the driver, with a curve of your own.
No. The update check reads the public list of releases and sends nothing about you or your computer. The support report is written to your desktop as a zip file, and you attach it to an issue yourself.
It is the scheduled task "amdgpu-wddm start confirm". It keeps the desktop drawing for at least one minute and then confirms the start. Do not close it. After two unconfirmed starts, Windows uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter again, so a broken start cannot repeat forever.
Run uninstall.cmd as administrator and restart. Installation has the steps. The System Restore
point "amdgpu-wddm before install" is a second way back, if the installer made one.
The uninstaller of 0.7.216.100-tester.28 stops before it removes anything. Installation, section 11, says what to do.
