Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, file an issue. If possible, attach relevant logs / error messages.
For the current implementation, the maximum allowable temperature range is:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| T_min | 0.367 |
| T_max | 1.632 |
| T_ref | 0.697954 |
In practice, this means, if the reference temperature is set as T_ref = 300K, the temperature range within which the solver operates should be:
157K <-> 700K
It is also important to realize that at higher temperatures chemical changes as well as changing specific heats will not be captured, nor will complex ionizations be captured.
The solver is guaranteed to remain stable in this temperature range, provided the Mach number remains within specified limits.
Note: The solver may be able to represent temperatures outside of this range. However, the errors in higher order moments (Pressure Tensor, Heat Flux tensor) will be high. Also, without Debug Mode enabled, this could result in nonphysical flow behavior and loss of numerical stability, resulting in the solver performance dropping dramatically.
Note: In tests, the model was able to correctly converge for temperatures as low as 0.05 (20K). This, of course, results in a very inaccurate representation of the gas state.
| Gamma | Max Mach Number |
|---|---|
| 1.4 | 4.2 |
| 1.67 | 3.832 |
| 2 | 3.5 |
| Gamma | Max Mach Number |
|---|---|
| 1.4 | 5.6 |
| 1.67 | 5.1 |
| 2 | 4.6666 |
