The solver, in DIRECT mode, has the capability to record the evolution of simulation variables and export them as videos (.mp4 format). For this, FFMPEG is used. To enable this, make sure you have ffmpeg installed on your system. Then, in settings file, specify:
rendering:
renderer : DIRECTTo tell the solver to use ffmpeg.
In the configuration file one can define:
fields_to_rasterize:
field1:
id: 1
min: 0.009
max: 0.0
autoset: false
output: output_density.mp4
field2:
id: 2
min: 1.5
max: 0.02
autoset: true
output: output_density1.mp4
field4:
id: 2
min: 3
max: 0.02
autoset: true
output: output_mach.mp4
field3:
id: 5
min: 0
max: 1
autoset: true
output: output_temp.mp4Field ID's tell the solver which field you want to rasterize. These are:
| id | Field |
|---|---|
0 |
Density gradient |
1 |
Density |
2 |
Pressure |
3 |
Temperature |
4 |
Mach number |
5 |
u (x-velocity) |
6 |
v (y-velocity) |
The rest of the specification tells how the solver should rasterize these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
min |
Minimum value for the color scale |
max |
Maximum value for the color scale |
autoset |
If true, automatically determines min/max instead of using the specified values |
output |
Output filename for the rendered video |
