LogRunner is a logbook programm for amateur radio operators that runs locally on your computer and is available for Windows, macOS* and Linux*. LogRunner is a fully-fledged logbook programme, but its standout feature is its direct connection to wavelog via the API v2 interface.
*LogRunner for Linux and macOS will be developed once version 1.0 for Windows has been finalised.
Limitation
In the current version, LogRunner is designed as a single-operator version and, subject to this limitation, can be used as a logbook programme or for logging during contests.
The Australian Logrunner (Orthonyx temminckii) is a small, stocky ground-dwelling bird native to the rainforests of eastern Australia. Known for its distinctive foraging style, the logrunner uses its stiff, spiny tail feathers as a brace against logs and soil while vigorously kicking leaf litter sideways to uncover insects, spiders, and larvae.
LogRunner was developed largely with the support of Claude.Code. The Pro plan and the Claude.Code Sonet 5.0 model were used. Development began in early August 2026, after I had been unable to find a logbook programme that met my requirements 100 per cent. My role in this project is that of a product manager. A great deal of time was spent on prompt design, repeatedly tweaking the user interface to ensure an optimal workflow, and testing the features.
Please note: I myself have not written a single line of code in this project so far.

Development costs currently amount to approximately €500,- due to the use of Claude.Code. Sponsors are welcome and will be named here upon request.

No liability is accepted for damages of any kind arising from the use or malfunction of LogRunner – in particular the loss, damage or corruption of data (including QSO data, logbook entries and database contents). This also applies to data loss occurring in connection with synchronisation between LogRunner and WaveLog or other connected systems.
All users are strongly advised to regularly create their own backup copies of their logbook and database files. A data backup should always be carried out before using the programme for the first time and before any programme updates. The user is solely responsible for the preservation and recoverability of the data.
There is no guarantee of error-free operation, uninterrupted availability or compatibility with specific operating systems, programme versions or interfaces (e.g. the WaveLog API).
