Presence Guard v1.5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 16:24

Cleans the public sleep-only project by removing camera preview and mouse diagnostic utilities. Raw Input tracking now retains only the activity timestamp and sequence counter required by Presence Guard. The README also describes the unverified monitor-wake observations without attributing them to any particular application or device. The local app and Startup shortcut remain disabled. Removes monitor standby completely. Presence Guard now waits for five minutes without physical input, checks the camera, and sleeps Windows immediately when no face is detected. Camera errors and input during detection continue to fail safe. Also adds packet-level mouse diagnostics that append every mouse event to mouse_movement_test.log. The local app and Startup shortcut remain disabled. SHA-256: 6E9E678A57FC5ACB9190CAA01521A9CFB99AB24F6DB6B86B8165756494FB883B

Presence Guard v1.4.4

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 14:12

Changes the default timers: Presence Guard now checks for absence after three minutes without physical input, then waits another ten minutes after monitor standby before sleeping Windows. SHA-256: F5E85A22EB20B5ADA0659EB988FF1C9B719D14157215214F761E6042F940516B

Presence Guard v1.4.3

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 14:03

Corrects v1.4.2 by removing repeated standby requests. Presence Guard sends one synchronous monitor-off command that works with fullscreen games, then allows normal keyboard or mouse wake behavior without forcing the display off every five seconds. @DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 13:38

Superseded by v1.4.3. Do not use this release: its repeated standby behavior can force a display back off after the user wakes it.

Presence Guard v1.4.1

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 13:24

Hardens Raw Input handling and the monitor-off grace state. Fast mouse paths are now accumulated per input packet, intentional input cannot be hidden by a later movement event, device names are cached, and activity races around camera checks and sleep are closed. Adds listener health checks and supports the full configured YuNet confidence range. SHA-256: 329E7C4604FA7FF54CA43A8F6EC2FA6956B4F0CE67E478C0E8F848D7A75455AE

Presence Guard v1.4.0

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 13:14

Replaces grace-period face confirmation with combined Raw Input and visible cursor-distance tracking. Keyboard, mouse button, and wheel input cancel sleep immediately. Mouse movement cancels sleep after 40 pixels of cumulative cursor travel; smaller movements settle after one second and return the monitor to standby. Face detection remains limited to the initial absence check. SHA-256: BA50B7B20E067A264320DD0750E9712EB3493887C227D0E957AC4154B2141623

Presence Guard v1.3.1

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 12:22

Fixes phantom mouse movement from HID devices waking the monitor and cancelling delayed sleep. Keyboard and mouse-button events still cancel immediately; movement-only events now require face confirmation. If no face is visible, the monitor returns to standby and the original sleep deadline remains active. Adds Raw Input source diagnostics. @DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 12:07

Changes absence handling to a two-stage sequence: after two minutes idle and no detected face, monitors enter standby; Windows sleeps only after another five minutes without physical input. Any physical keyboard or mouse input during the delay cancels sleep. SHA-256: 2AA074C778D71CCB629904A69623A044916E30526051AD979E5F03D976D005FB

Presence Guard v1.2.0

@DannyOnCode DannyOnCode released this 05 Sep 11:59

Replaces full-body detection with lightweight OpenCV YuNet face detection. Any detected face above the confidence threshold counts as present, regardless of head orientation. Bags, legs, and body-shaped objects no longer prevent sleep. Includes a live camera_preview.py diagnostic tool. SHA-256: FADC2020D5FC3967D5F383CDF76A110CF6DF608CEB49E030EA516CFD266663AD
