Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.2.3
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe and run it - that is the app.
The .update.bin asset is consumed by the app and is not an installer.
Your files are backed up before every install
Installing the mod, the HD texture pack, the custom sounds or controller icons
now copies your own files into storage\t6\backups first: textures, sounds,
controller icons, your ReShade setup, scripts and settings. It keeps the first
backup, the one from before anything was installed, so later installs never
replace it. If a backup can't be made (a full disk, say), the install stops
rather than overwrite your files with no copy. It's on by default; untick
Back up my files before every install to turn it off.
Put anything back
The Quality of Life page has a new Backups section. Back up, put back, open,
replace or delete each kind, or use Back up all and Put all back. New
kinds this time:
- My scripts -
storage\t6\scriptsandstorage\t6\raw - My game settings - Plutonium's configs and key bindings, never your stats
- My other mods and maps - only when you ask, since it can be gigabytes
Removing a pack now asks Remove and put my originals back. Backups taken
by the old install script restore here too.
Fixed
- Home: the selected game filter cut the first and last letter off
"World at War" and "Modern Warfare 3". It fits now. - Home: the square box drawn around the game filters is gone.
- A saved 16x anti-aliasing setting, which stops the mod at a black screen,
is set back to 4x before an install and in your settings backups.
Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.2.2
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe and run it - that is the app.
The .update.bin asset is consumed by the app and is not an installer.
Fixed
The updater refused its own update. 2.2.1's update list carried a
39-character checksum - one character short - so it could never match any file,
and every copy of the app failed with "SHA-1 mismatch for
QualityOfLifeModManager.update.bin". The list has been corrected, and the app
no longer enforces a checksum it cannot use: a malformed one is ignored and the
download is checked against GitHub's own digest, the published size, and that
the payload is a real program.
The custom sounds pack would not install. zm_qol-sounds.zip had a
corrupted file inside it, and had since v2.14.28. Installing it failed partway
through with raw "7-Zip failed (code 2) ... CRC Failed", which looked like a
problem on your PC. It was not. The pack has been rebuilt and republished, and
every file in it now verifies.
Pack downloads are now checked before they are used. Both optional packs
are verified against GitHub's published checksum and size, and a damaged
download is retried once. If a pack downloads correctly and still will not
unpack, the app now says so plainly instead of showing 7-Zip's output - and
leaves your game untouched.
Downloads are also checked to have actually reached the disk in full, rather
than reporting success on a short file.
Quality of Life Mod Manager v2.2.1
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe and run it.
The .update.bin file is used by installed copies of the app. It is not an installer.
Fixes the missing Qt DLL popups reported with v2.2.0:
- Removes the bare app executable that people could mistake for the installer.
- Bundles the required Qt, MinGW, graphics, platform, TLS, and image runtime files.
- Checks the extracted runtime before Setup completes. A damaged package now stops with one diagnostic instead of opening repeated Windows error dialogs.
- Rejects release builds with missing DLL imports and tests the completed installer in an isolated directory.
Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.2.0
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe and run it — that is the app.
Do NOT download the bare QualityOfLifeModManager.exe for a fresh install: it is
the in-app updater's file only, and running it alone fails with
Qt6Gui.dll was not found.
DLSS 5 in Black Ops II, on LAN
NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural rendering now runs in Black Ops II through the DLSS5-Feeder
ReShade add-on, as a tick box beside ReShade on the game page.
Add-ons need a build of ReShade that will load them, and the stock build will
not: asked for one it answers, in its own words, "this build of ReShade has only
limited add-on functionality". That is what people mean when they say ReShade
works with Plutonium "but limited". So the manager now keeps both builds and
chooses per launch:
- LAN gets ReShade with full add-on support, and DLSS 5 with it on Black Ops II.
- Online gets the stock build, and every add-on file leaves
binfirst. - Unticked takes ReShade out of
binaltogether and checks that it is gone.
The 237 MB of NVIDIA runtimes are not shipped here. Quality of Life → DLSS 5 →
Import copies them from a folder on your PC that already has DLSS 5 working.
What it costs. The neural pass runs in a 64-bit helper process, because the
engine is 32-bit, and the game waits on that round trip every frame. Measured on
an RTX 4070 at 1440p: the game presents at its own frame cap using under 3 ms of
GPU, while the pass evaluates around 50 times a second. It is a look, not a
performance feature. Its panel is on F10 and starts hidden, because leaving
it open costs far more than the pass does.
Only Black Ops II can take it: World at War, Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 are
Direct3D 9, and the feeder needs Direct3D 11 or newer. ReShade itself, including
the add-on build, works on all four.
Also in this release
- DLSS5.ini — a preset holding only the two effects DLSS needs, so ReShade's
own preset switcher flips cleanly between DLSS and your colour grading. Your
own preset is never edited. - Checkbox focus ring no longer clipped. It was drawn three pixels outside
the indicator while the indicator sat one pixel from the edge, so clicking any
checkbox cut the left of the ring off. - A ReShade watchdog can no longer outlive the app. It was tracked only by
the pid of the session that started it, so killing the app left it running and
enforcing the rules of an older build — three at once on one machine. It now
records its pid and the app clears strays at startup. - Only the effects the preset uses are compiled. ReShade rewrites its own
config on exit and a stale value there compiled all 548 shaders in the pack on
every launch.
DLSS 5 LAN payload 1.2.0
The DLSS 5 LAN payload for Quality of Life Mod Manager (2.3.0 and later). The app installs it from the Quality of Life page with one click. You never download it by hand.
The app reads dlss5-manifest.json, downloads the archive it names, and checks the archive's size and SHA-256. It then checks every file inside against payload.json. Two things come from their publishers rather than from this release, each checked against a pinned hash:
- LumeniteFX, the motion-vector kernel, from https://github.com/umar-afzaal/LumeniteFX. Its licence requires the author's own links.
nvngx_dlss.dll, from https://github.com/NVIDIA/DLSS.
DLSS 5 runs only in LAN games of Black Ops II. Every online launch removes it from Plutonium's bin folder first, and refuses to start while any of it is still there.
1.2.0. The helper's ReShade ships as d3d12.dll. Some Windows tweak tools (Windhawk's Win32 UI Modernizer, for one) load Windows' own dxgi.dll into every program. That stopped the helper from loading ReShade, so DLSS 5 delivered nothing even though everything looked installed.
1.1.0. Runs on a PC with no ReShade shader pack, because it now carries ReShade.fxh and the Lumenite includes. It also carries the 64-bit VC++ runtime the helper needs. The in-game DLSS panel opens 1500 px wide. LumeniteFX is no longer hosted here.
Credits and licences are in host64/licenses/: DLSS5-Feeder (MIT), RenoDX (MIT), ReShade (BSD-3-Clause), NVIDIA RTX SDKs licence, and the Microsoft VC++ redistributable.
To publish a new version, build it with scripts/build-dlss5-payload.py. Upload the archive first and replace dlss5-manifest.json last.
Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.1.6
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe for the normal Windows install.
Updating no longer loops. Asking to update, watching the progress bar
finish, and then being asked for the same version again was the app failing to
replace its own program file and not noticing. Windows will not overwrite a
running program, so a second copy of the manager — including one left behind
window-less by an earlier update — kept the write lock, the copy silently
failed, and the old build was started again.
- The update now closes the app's other copies before the swap, and terminates
any that will not close. Copies of the app running from somewhere else are
left alone. - The swap is verified, retried while the file is locked, and written down in
QualityOfLifeModManager.exe.update-log.txt. It is no longer possible for a
failed update to report success. - The version is recorded only once the new build has actually started, so the
settings file can no longer claim an update that never happened. - After two failed attempts at the same version the app says so — with Try
again and a link to the download page — instead of offering it forever.
Sidebar. With the window made small, the last game in the list was drawn
with the bottom of its highlight sliced off. The nav column scrolls now rather
than being squeezed, and the window can go down to 640 px tall.
Carries the ReShade vault verifier and the Cinematic Colour Grading preset
from 2.1.5.
Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.1.5
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe for the normal Windows install.
This release ships the latest Cinematic Colour Grading ReShade preset. It also repairs an empty or incomplete ReShade shader vault before the watchdog starts, and the manager now packages and unpacks the verifier alongside the watchdog.
Quality of Life Mod Manager 2.1.4
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe for the normal Windows install.
This release ships the latest Cinematic Colour Grading ReShade preset edited on 21 September 2026. The portable zip and bare updater executable contain the same 2.1.4 build.
v2.1.3 - A Setup that works on clean PCs
Download QualityOfLifeModManagerSetup.exe below. It is the recommended download for every Windows PC.
The Setup now carries the complete Qt 6 and MinGW runtime. It does not require a separate Qt install, .NET runtime, or Visual C++ redistributable. It installs for the current user without administrator rights, checks for 64-bit Windows 10 or later, verifies every required runtime file, and adds normal Start menu, desktop, and Apps & features entries.
QualityOfLifeModManager-portable.zip contains the same complete runtime for portable use. Extract the whole zip before launching it.
QualityOfLifeModManager.exe is the in-app updater payload. Do not download that file by itself for a fresh install because Qt DLLs must sit beside it.
v2.1.2 - The LAN clients get updates now
Download QualityOfLifeModManager-portable.zip below and unzip it — that is the app.
Do NOT download the bare QualityOfLifeModManager.exe for a fresh install: it is the in-app updater's file only and running it alone fails with Qt6Gui.dll was not found.
The LAN clients now actually get updates.
The update check read every version out of the app's update feed — a file that
only changes when somebody regenerates it by hand. Nothing regenerates it when
a new T7-CLL or S1-CLL client is released, so the app could never find
out a newer one existed. It would have stayed on the same client version
forever, which is exactly what you would expect it not to do.
It now asks each component's own repository what its latest release is, every
time it checks, and only falls back to the feed for anything it cannot reach.
That covers the LAN clients for Black Ops III and Advanced Warfare, the portable
Plutonium kit, and the app itself.
A few details worth knowing:
- It uses plain
github.com, not the GitHub API, so there is no hourly rate
limit and nothing to sign in to. On some machines the API is blocked outright;
this works there too. - It only asks about components you actually have installed, so a machine
without Black Ops III or Advanced Warfare makes one request, not five. - If you are offline, or GitHub is unreachable, the check quietly falls back to
the feed instead of failing.
New: QualityOfLifeModManager.exe -checkupdates prints what every component
resolves to and whether that came from the repository or the feed.
