MobiVerse v2.1.2

MobiVerse 2.1.2 improves the built-in EPUB reading workflow and makes local file deletion explicit and safer.

Who Should Download

Download this release if you use MobiVerse on an Apple Silicon Mac to convert or preview manga, comics, illustrated books, or DRM-free ebooks. It is recommended for all users of MobiVerse 2.1.0 and earlier.

What's New

  • Navigate image-based EPUB previews with the keyboard left and right arrow keys.
  • Reopen the same EPUB at the page where you previously stopped reading.
  • Confirm before permanently deleting a converted EPUB from local storage.
  • Cancel deletion without changing the file or conversion history.
  • Remove stale conversion history cleanly when its EPUB file is already missing.
  • Refined task action button hit areas and visual consistency.

Conversion and Reading

  • Opens EPUB files directly in the built-in preview.
  • Converts DRM-free MOBI, AZW, AZW3, CBZ, CBR, ZIP, and PDF files into EPUB.
  • Uses a native high-speed conversion path for image-heavy PDF comics.
  • Rebuilds image-heavy books as fixed-layout EPUB3 output for Apple Books.
  • Bundles Calibre for formats that require it. No separate Calibre installation is needed.
  • Keeps conversion and reading data local on your Mac.

Install

  1. Download MobiVerse-2.1.2.dmg below.
  2. Open the DMG.
  3. Drag MobiVerse.app into Applications and replace the previous version.
  4. Launch MobiVerse and open or drop a supported book.

Signing and Notarization

  • The app is ad-hoc signed for local integrity verification.
  • The DMG is not Apple Developer ID notarized.
  • macOS Gatekeeper may require approval in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway after the first launch attempt.

Known Limitations

  • Apple Silicon (arm64) only.
  • MobiVerse does not remove DRM.
  • EPUBCheck validation is skipped unless an EPUBCheck runtime is available.
  • Text EPUB preview uses WebView and does not yet restore an exact reading location.

Verification

  • App version: 2.1.2 (8)
  • Architecture: Apple Silicon (arm64)
  • Automated tests: 27 passed
  • Bundled Calibre: verified
  • DMG size: approximately 475 MB
