Web Cloner 1.2.0
Developer options: decide exactly what gets cloned.
New: the Advanced card
Collapsed by default, under the two option columns. Every field maps to a wget flag, and an empty field changes nothing.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Skip these paths | Leave out /blog, /admin/* and friends |
| Only these paths | Clone just one section, for example /docs |
| Skip URLs matching | A regular expression, for example /tag/|\.pdf$ |
| Skip file types | pdf, zip, mp4 |
| Also allow domains | Crawl an extra asset domain alongside the site |
| Stop after (MB) | Hard cap on the download |
| HTTP user and password | Basic auth |
| Extra request headers | One per line, e.g. Cookie: session=abc123 for a logged-in copy |
| Keep original links | Leaves the HTML exactly as served, no rewriting |
| Ignore SSL errors | For staging servers with a bad certificate |
Copy wget command puts the exact command on your clipboard for a terminal or a script. The app log hides the password, the copied command keeps it.
Download
Already on 1.1.0 or newer? The app offers this update itself. Otherwise grab WebCloner.dmg.
Web Cloner 1.1.0
The app now updates itself.
What changed
- Built-in updater. On launch Web Cloner checks GitHub for a newer release. If there is one, a bar appears at the top with Update Now — it downloads the DMG, replaces the installed app and reopens it. No dragging, no deleting the old copy. You can also run it from Web Cloner → Check for Updates…
- Version numbers now come from the build, so the app knows exactly which release it is on.
Everything from 1.0.1 is included: CDN images download correctly and the escaped-URL 404s are gone.
Download
WebCloner.dmg — only needed for a first install. After this, updates arrive inside the app.
Web Cloner 1.0.1
Fixes missing images on sites that serve their assets from a CDN.
What changed
- CDN assets now download. wget only mirrors one host, so images, fonts and stylesheets on a separate asset domain (Webflow, Shopify, WordPress with a CDN) were skipped. After the mirror, Web Cloner collects those URLs, downloads them and rewrites every reference to the local copy.
- Fixed the 404s from escaped URLs. A background image written as
url("https://cdn/photo.jpg")was read literally by wget, requested as a relative path and returned 404. Those are now unwrapped and fetched correctly. - Cleaner page list. Those broken requests no longer show up as failed pages.
On a test Webflow site the clone went from 11 files and 221 KB to 30 files and 1 MB, with every reference resolving offline.
