GK3Reborn v1.0.4
This version fixes the following issues;
-
Soft outlines on binocular labels.
-
Ensure binoculars masking stays opaque.
The binocular mask was semi transparent and it looked a bit weird and the POI names now have a black outline so they are easier to read. -
Timeblock transition card when starting a new game.
When starting a new game the first timeblock is now also shown. -
Restoring the previous camera when moving during inspection.
Inspect - move camera, and now it immediately resets. -
Follow scoring and returning Gabriel to Blanchefort after chasing the two men.
Trigger/script fix + scoring fix. -
The intro toggle.
The play intro toggle now works. -
Animated targeting, including Mosely during the handshake.
Script fix. -
The three reported journal objectives.
Several journal objectives weren't being completed, should work fine now. -
Separate Gabriel/Grace conversation histories, fixing day-two dialogue availability.
Counter issue for conversations, this caused Day 2's grace interactions to stop working if Gabriel already did them. -
Fix double points issue for din_manuscript_prints & open_cellar_doors
Score list had two double items double defined causing the total points to be higher than the original. Oops.
GK3Reborn v1.0.3
Fixes a few smaller things;
- Binocular targets now load the scene and focus on the target of interest instead of default position of location.
- Dialogs are properly cut off when looking at/investigating items in the inventory
- Script trigger issues causing certain dialog to not play when they should.
GK3Reborn v1.0.2
Fixes a few script triggers and dialog issues (especially when skipping stuff).
GK3Reborn v1.0.1
Fixes a number of small issues at end-game.
GK3Reborn v1.0
Installing
GK3Reborn is an engine, not a game. It needs a legally obtained Gabriel Knight 3
installation to read its data from; none of that data is included here and none
of it ever will be. See the README for where to point it.
The .NET 10 runtime is a prerequisite. These builds are framework-dependent by
design: the runtime is a prerequisite, not a payload.

macOS
The installer places GK3Reborn.app in /Applications. The bundle is signed ad hoc
and the package is not signed or notarized, so macOS refuses to open it on a
double-click. Either right-click the .pkg and choose Open, or clear the
quarantine first:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine GK3Reborn-osx-arm64.pkg
MoltenVK is included, so nothing else has to be installed to render. The
cutscenes are decoded by the engine itself and play on a Mac like anywhere else.
What else is in the archive
On macOS these files are inside the bundle, under Contents/Resources.
libs/ carries the native libraries the engine loads at run time - GLFW,
OpenAL Soft, shaderc, and on macOS MoltenVK - all unmodified upstream builds,
replaceable by deleting the file and dropping in your own. The cutscenes need
none of them: H.264 and AAC are decoded in managed code. licenses/THIRD-PARTY.md
lists every third-party component, its version and its licence.
