Barony Android Port 5.0.2 Beta 11
Pre-releaseBarony Android Port 5.0.2 Beta 11
Beta 11 brings couch co-op to Android, adds Android TV and Google TV support,
and adds Receive from PC for sending game data, mods, and saves over Wi-Fi.
It retains Beta 10's mod support, Beta 9's holiday-theme startup fix and input
improvements, Beta 8's experimental direct LAN multiplayer, and the earlier
rendering, owned-data, save-management, and DLC-entitlement improvements.
New
- Android TV and Google TV. The app appears in the TV's app list with its
own banner. The remote navigates the menus: arrows move, OK selects,
Back goes back, and Menu pauses. Touch controls stay hidden on TVs. - Receive from PC (Wi-Fi). The device shows an address and a 6-digit code;
open the address in a PC browser, enter the code, and send a ZIP. The app
recognizes game-data, mod, and save archives and installs them with the
existing importers. No cable, file manager, or ADB is needed.- On a TV, the first-start Barony game data required screen offers
Receive from PC instead of the file picker. - On phones and tablets, it is in Data & Saves > Receive from PC (Wi-Fi).
- The app only listens while that screen is open, accepts only devices on the
local network, and stops after one file, after Cancel, when you leave
the app, or after five wrong codes. It accepts.zipfiles up to 2 GB.
- On a TV, the first-start Barony game data required screen offers
- New TV guide
with step-by-step installation, data transfer, controls, and co-op.
Fixed
- Local split-screen co-op. With two to four players, every view was drawn
into Player 1's part of the screen. Each player now gets their own view: top
and bottom for two players (or side by side with Vertical Splitscreen),
quarters for three or four.
How to play couch co-op
Connect up to four gamepads, choose Play Game > New >
Local Adventure, and have each player press A on their own gamepad to
join. If the game runs slowly with several players, lower
Render Resolution to 720p.
TV requirements
TVs need a 64-bit (arm64-v8a) system. NVIDIA Shield TV is an example of a
supported device. Many streaming sticks, including Chromecast with Google TV,
run a 32-bit system and can't install the port.
Verification
- Clean signed ARM64 release build from commit
f71c5ab5ccc9a39df545a2382e9f90dad6114eae. - The APK passed signature, package/version/SDK, exact permission (only
android.permission.INTERNET), exact ARM64 native-library,
open-source-notice, and commercial-data boundary checks. - Runtime testing for this release used Android emulators, not physical
phones or TVs:- Split-screen with simulated Bluetooth gamepads: two and four players on an
Android 15 phone emulator and two and four players at 1920x1080 on an
Android 16 Google TV emulator. Each gamepad moved only its own view. - On the TV emulator: the TV launcher entry and banner, remote navigation,
and Receive from PC transfers of a 619 MB game-data archive on a fresh
install, a two-mod archive, and a save archive (the restored save appeared
under Continue). - Receive from PC rejected a wrong code, a non-ZIP file, a file that
isn't a ZIP inside, and an oversized upload; it stopped after five wrong
codes, on Cancel, on Cancel during an upload, and on Home,
leaving no partial file behind. - Phones are unchanged: touch controls appear and Back still leaves the
game. - The exact signed APK installed on both emulators with a matching hash.
On the phone emulator it reached the main menu with all required startup
markers, all three DLC packs, and the touch controls. On the TV emulator,
a fresh install received a 619 MB game-data archive through
Receive from PC on the first-start screen, then reached the Halloween
main menu with all required startup markers and all three DLC packs, with
touch controls hidden and the remote's OK and Back working.

Reports from physical TVs and from real couch co-op sessions are especially
welcome.
Compatibility
- ARM64 phones, tablets, and TVs running Android 8.0 or newer.
- Offline single-player, local split-screen co-op for up to four players, and
experimental direct LAN multiplayer. - Gamepad, mouse/keyboard, TV remote (menus), and optional touch controls.

- Existing Beta 5 or newer owned-data archives, saves, settings, mods, and
transferred DLC entitlements remain compatible; no archive rebuild is
required.
