v0.1.3

@EliTheCoder EliTheCoder released this 23 Mar 02:54
  • --version flag — ming --version now prints the current version

v0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@EliTheCoder EliTheCoder released this 22 Mar 23:16
  • Real-time DNS resolution — hostnames appear as hosts respond during the scan, not after
  • Fixed smart mode subnet scans missing open ports — concentrated connections on a small number of alive hosts was triggering RST rate limiting; smart mode TCP phase now starts at 3 connections per alive host (port-major ordering) to stay well below the threshold
  • Faster smart mode TCP phase — uses 300 ms timeout instead of 1 s (hosts already responded to ICMP so they're on the LAN), and disables adaptive concurrency reduction (high timeout rates on LAN scans just mean "port filtered", not congestion)

v0.1.1

@EliTheCoder EliTheCoder released this 20 Mar 17:52

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed slow Ctrl+C on large scans (worker pool pattern)
  • Fixed crash on Windows (ScanDisplay forward reference)
  • Fixed Python 2-style except syntax in scanner and resolver
  • Auto-tune TCP concurrency for subnet scans to avoid flooding the router
  • Reverse DNS now on by default

v0.1.0

@EliTheCoder EliTheCoder released this 19 Mar 03:43

v0.1.0 — initial public release of mingping, a fast async network scanner.

Features:

  • ICMP ping, TCP connect, and UDP probe scan modes
  • Flexible targets: single IPs, CIDR ranges, wildcards (192.168.1.x), hostnames, domains, comma-separated lists
  • Flexible port specs: individual ports, ranges, named ports (ssh, http, postgres), and group presets (web, db, remote, devops)
  • Live terminal UI built with Rich, updates in real time as hosts respond
  • Reverse DNS hostname resolution by default
  • --output json|csv for scripting
  • --quiet for minimal line-by-line output
  • --watch mode for continuous re-scanning
  • Configurable --timeout and --concurrency
  • Summary stats after every scan
  • Graceful Ctrl+C — exits immediately, shows results found so far
  • No root required on Linux/macOS for any scan mode
