The first update to Ammerow: Lands Beyond, with camera, interface and Hybrid presentation fixes.

Download Ammerow-0.1.1-windows-x64.zip below, extract the entire ZIP to a writable folder, and run ammerow.exe from the extracted folder. Requires 64-bit Windows 10/11. No Steam account is needed.

This is the full playable game, including ASCII illustrations, Hybrid 32x32/64x64 graphics, sound effects and home-screen music. The adjacent .sha256 file lets you verify the download.

What's changed

• The camera keeps the player clear of the stats and messages, including at map edges. A previously selected target no longer pulls the camera away during normal movement.
• Hybrid monster artwork remains visible during attack and death animations instead of briefly changing to an ASCII glyph.
• Clicking the interface-size setting cycles through all sizes. Redundant manual camera-centering controls have been removed from menus and help; existing shortcuts remain recognised.
• Large Settings pages separate their controls, hints and footer text. Long messages wrap correctly, and bottom messages remain left-aligned with the sidebar fitted above them.
• Fixed the lean public-source CMake check so it no longer requires omitted private audit tests.

Existing saves

There are no gameplay-balance, content or save-format changes in this update. Existing 0.1.0 saves and settings are intended to carry forward, and an actual 0.1.0 save was tested through loading, saving and restarting in 0.1.1. Back up your existing game folder before updating; this is not a guarantee for every possible save state.

The playable ZIP contains its exact corresponding program source in source/Ammerow-source.zip. The v0.1.1 tag contains the same source files. GitHub's automatic Source code downloads are for building the game, not ready-to-play downloads.

The program is GPLv2. Ammerow artwork and audio are separately licensed and are included in the playable download, not the source repository. See the accompanying notices for permissions and third-party licences.

The freshly exported public source passed 1,396 native tests, 24 Python tests and five frontend tests. The full portable ZIP passed extraction and per-file hash verification.
