✨ What's in this release

This is the initial public release of Elite Level ScreenCap. After extensive development and polish, we're shipping a full-featured screenshot tool with a built-in annotation editor.

📸 Capture Engine

  • Region capture with real-time selection overlay across single and multi-monitor setups
  • Window snapping — hover to auto-select any visible window's bounds
  • Fullscreen capture per display
  • Global hotkeys — PrintScreen for region, Ctrl+PrintScreen for fullscreen, work system-wide
  • ScreenCap App windows hide before the screenshot fires — they'll never appear in your captures
  • Clipboard copy and preview toggles

✏️ Annotation Editor (Elite Image Editor)

A fully-featured canvas annotation editor with 20 tools:

Shapes — Rectangle, Rounded Rect, Ellipse, Triangle, Diamond, Star, Hexagon, Parallelogram
Drawing — Arrow, Line, Pen, Highlighter
Text — Rich text with gradient, shadow, outline, and inline editing
Callouts — Speech bubbles with pointer tail and editable text
Utility — Step markers, Blur/Redact regions, Magnify lens, Eraser, Crop, Flood fill

Styling system:

  • Solid, linear gradient, and radial gradient colour modes per annotation
  • Fill colours, stroke width, opacity
  • Drop shadows with joystick-controlled direction offset that correctly scales with border thickness
  • Border/outline with independent colour and width

🎨 Image Adjustments & Effects

Non-destructive adjustment panel with live preview:

Brightness · Contrast · Saturation · Hue · Blur · Sharpen · Temperature · Vignette · B&W · Tint

Export effects: border, rounded corners, drop shadow, padding, watermark

🖥️ App Architecture

  • Single instance — clicking the exe when already running brings it to focus with a tray notification, never spawns a second process
  • Elite Image Editor shortcut — launches the same exe with --editor flag, reuses the running instance if already open
  • Tray-resident — app lives in the system tray, always one click away
  • Full undo/redo, session autosave, annotation select/move/resize post-placement
