Ring Out v1.2.1-ell.10 (Linux valid; Windows superseded)
Pre-releaseWindows users: this release's first-run setup is broken even though
tools/dolrecomp.exeis present. Use v1.2.1-ell.11. The.ell.10Linux AppImage remains valid.
Ring Out v1.2.1-ell.10 is an experimental rollback-netplay beta and the Linux replacement for .ell.9.
No game data is included. Supply a disc image you own.
Linux fix in this release:
- AppImage first-run compilation no longer passes the AppImage's Debian 12
LD_LIBRARY_PATHto the host's CMake, Ninja, compiler, or Python. - Compiler detection now rejects failed probes, times out a wedged Linux compiler probe, and falls back from a broken
clangto GCC. - The exact-package smoke test deliberately contaminates the library environment and breaks
clang, then requires the packaged setup helper to build and load a native module through GCC.
Rollback beta features:
- launcher-based Online Room host/join flow through Dolphin's hosted traversal rendezvous;
- Ready-gated rollback sessions with prediction, checkpoint restore, correction/resimulation, desync detection, and a ping/rollback OSD;
- detailed file logging controlled from the launcher;
- Advanced Direct IP fallback.
Important beta limitations:
- Online Room is direct UDP after rendezvous. There is no relay, authentication, encryption, room password, or Hide My IP mode, and strict NATs may fail.
- Physical two-machine, cross-platform, strict-NAT, and broad adverse-network testing is still outstanding.
- Linux first run requires CMake, Ninja, Python 3, GNU coreutils, a C compiler, and libc development headers. Windows includes its first-run toolchain.
Validated at source commit df76814a0e05655dcbf1efec05620bc02dad0f48: Linux 45/45 tests, static DolRecomp tests, exact AppImage synthetic-module/ABI and clean-host smokes, Windows cross-build and exact-package Wine first-run smoke, plus a complete real GRSEAF module build on the affected Arch host.
