Repository navigation
v0.5.0
Highlights
- New settings. Notifications, your inbox and how the app looks, in one place. On phones the settings open as a full page with a back button, and the back gesture closes them.
- Only hear about breaking changes, if you like: notifications for every channel can be limited to releases with breaking changes.
- Mark as read after viewing. Optionally, an entry is marked as read once you move on to another repository or close it.
- The inbox count on the app icon of the installed app, kept up to date by push notifications while the app is closed. It can be turned off.
- Display options per device: light, dark or system theme, a compact list with two-line rows, star counts, relative or calendar dates, and the tab releases open on.
- Hidden releases explain themselves. A hidden release names the rule that hides it, with Show again (and Undo) to remove it, or points to the pre-release setting.
Fixes
- The stable release of a new major version is marked as breaking after its pre-releases too, so it isn't missed when pre-releases are quiet or hidden.
- New download counts no longer make every open tab reload its lists every 30 minutes.
- Background refreshes no longer show the sync spinner.
- The app works when the browser blocks storage.
- Searching while a release is open keeps the way back to the list; on phones,
j/kadd a history entry like a tap does. - Tapping the date of an entry opens it.
- Quick changes to several settings no longer undo each other.
- Parallel sign-in guesses are throttled like sequential ones.
- One failing push subscription no longer stops delivery to the others.
- Restarting the service no longer waits for open browser tabs.
- On very narrow screens the view tabs fit again.
Under the hood
- Type checking with pyright and dependency checks with deptry in CI.
- Shared components for empty states, tooltips, keyboard hints and setting rows; the inbox page and release detail are split into smaller hooks and components.
- The GitHub client reports network failures as GitHub errors; the Anthropic SDK is only loaded when summaries are configured.
Upgrading
Pull, then rebuild as described under Updating in the README. Restarting the service applies the two new database migrations.
