Button Controls & Functions

This page explains how the buttons on your Engage Pro Elite operate.

๐ŸŽ› Main Unit Buttons Overview

Button 1 can be used to invoke Bluetooth pairing mode.
1 - Power on the device and wait around 2-3 seconds. 2 - Hold button 1 until the onboard Blue LED starts flashing

Button 2 can be used to reboot the device 1 - Press button 2 and the unit will reboot. 2 - If a bluetooth speaker has previously been connected to it will auto connect after reboot.


๐ŸŽ› Palm Button Overview

The Engage Pro Elite features 8 main buttons, on the palm each used to trigger sounds and system functions. There are then 2 additional buttons on the main unit (labelled 1 & 2).

Palm Buttons support different types of input:

  • Short Press
  • Medium Hold
  • Long Hold

Each type can trigger different actions depending on the current mode.


๐Ÿ”˜ Basic Button Actions

โ–ถ๏ธ Short Press

  • Plays a sound from the defined category associated to 'click' on the template.

โฑ Medium Hold

  • Plays a sound from the defined category associated to 'hold' on the template.

๐Ÿ” Long Hold

  • Used for polyphonics audio if configured on the template (Eg Vader Breathing)
  • Hold again to stop the loop

๐Ÿ”„ Bank Switching

To change sound banks:

  1. Hold Button 1 + Button 8
  2. Hold until the bank switches
  3. THe unit will play that characters Boot sound to confirm the change.

๐ŸŽค Q&A Mode

Some sound profiles include a Q&A system:

  • Pressing a button triggers a question or prompt (see your template for details)
  • Whilst in Q & A mode the following is relevant:
  • Button 1 - Repeats Question
  • Buttons 2 - 4 can be used as follow up statemenets to the recipients answer

Exit Q&A Mode

  • Press Button 8

(No sound is played when exiting)


โš™๏ธ System Controls (Boot Functions)

These functions are triggered during power-on:

๐Ÿ”Œ Wired Mode

  • Hold Button 4 while powering on

๐Ÿ“ก WiFi Portal Mode

  • Hold Button 8 while powering on

๐Ÿ”ต Bluetooth Pairing Mode

  • Hold Button 1 + Button 2, then press Button 5

โš ๏ธ Notes

  • Some functions depend on the current sound bank configuration
  • Button behaviour may vary depending on the loaded sound pack
  • Buttons are disabled briefly during system boot

Button Not Responding

  • Ensure device has completed booting
  • Check SD card is inserted correctly
  • Confirm firmware is functioning normally
