Firmware Update Guide

This guide explains how to safely update the firmware on your Engage Pro Elite.

⚠️ Before You Begin

Please read this first:

• We highlu recommend doing the upgrade from a computer/rather than phone
• Ensure your device has a stable power connection
• Do NOT disconnect power during the update
• Only use official firmware from the Engage repository

📥 Step 1 – Download Firmware

1. Go to the firmware releases page: https://github.com/EngageCosplay/Engage-Pro-Elite-Firmware/releases

2. Download the latest .bin file

📡 Step 2 – Enter WiFi Portal Mode

1. Power off the device
2. Hold Button 8
3. Power on while holding Button 8
4. Release once the device starts

The device will create a WiFi network.

📶 Step 3 – Connect to the Device

1. On your phone or computer, connect to: ENGAGE_PRO_XXXXXXX
2. Enter password: engage1234

⚠️ If prompted about no internet connection, stay connected anyway.

🌐 Step 4 – Open the Web Portal

Open a browser and go to: http://192.168.4.1

If it does not load:

• Disable mobile data (on phones)
• Try refreshing the page
• Ensure you are connected to the device WiFi

⬆️ Step 5 – Upload Firmware

1. Navigate to Firmware Update
2. Select the .bin file you downloaded
3. Start the upload

⏳ Step 6 – Wait for Completion

• The upload will take a short time
• The device will automatically install the firmware
• The device will reboot once complete

⚠️ Do NOT power off during this process

✅ Step 7 – Confirm Update

After reboot:

• Device should start normally
• Test button inputs and audio
• Confirm expected behaviour

❌ Troubleshooting

Portal Not Loading

• Make sure you are connected to the device WiFi
• Disable mobile data
• Try another browser

---

Upload Fails

• Ensure .bin file is not corrupted
• Retry the process
• Reboot device
