The first preview of Tidal, a tray app that controls the real brightness of your monitors on Windows.

Download Tidal-win-Setup.exe below (or the portable zip). It installs just for you, with no admin rights, and adds Tidal to the Start menu.

What's in 0.1

  • Hardware brightness and contrast for external monitors over DDC/CI, and Windows brightness for laptop screens
  • Tray popup with a slider per display, presets, an input switcher and Link all
  • Brightness shortcuts (Ctrl+Alt+PageUp / PageDown) with an on-screen level
  • Per-display brightness limits
  • Adaptive brightness: follow the sun, match the laptop screen, or a light sensor
  • Input switching and speaker volume where the monitor supports them

Good to know

  • Requires 64-bit Windows 10 (2004 or later) or Windows 11.
  • This preview isn't code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • If a monitor doesn't respond, turn on DDC/CI in its on-screen menu or connect it without a dock or adapter.

Coming next

Software dimming (below 0% and for monitors without DDC/CI), per-app presets, and start with Windows.
