Release list
UI Enhancer 0.27.41
What's new
Your settings are safer. UI Enhancer now saves your favourites and settings itself, instead of in the simulator's profile save, where they could be lost. What you've already saved moves over by itself the first time you start the simulator.
New features
- Remember identification: each livery keeps its own tail number, and your flight number is remembered too.
- Ground services: a new Utilities tool for pushback (straight, left or right), jetway or stairs, catering, luggage, fuel, power and wheel chocks, without opening the EFB.
- Hide key hints: removes the key hints along the bottom of every screen. Back and the button to quit the simulator stay.
Improvements
- Flight progress now follows the flight plan from your EFB, including the departure, airways and arrival, and has a navlog.
- Fuel can be shown in kg, lb or gallons, and your choice is remembered.
- ATC panel: fades once the exchange has gone quiet, and its reminders clear themselves once they no longer apply.
- Favourite aircraft menu: the Free Flight aircraft card shows the aircraft picker's photo of your livery.
- The app asks before replacing what's in your screen corner (the Community edition has one), and asks before installing an update instead of installing it by itself.
Installing
Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.27.41.zip, unzip it and run UIEnhancerManager.exe with the simulator closed. If you already use UI Enhancer, open the new app and press Update.
UI Enhancer Community Edition 0.24.9
UI Enhancer Pro is now on sale, and you can buy it and switch to it from inside the app. Community stays free.
Install or update
- Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.24.9.zip below and extract it to a folder of your choice (not the Community folder). If you have an earlier version, extract over it or to a new folder.
- Run UIEnhancerManager.exe. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
- Close the simulator, then click Update in the app. Your settings and favourites are kept.
See the README for details.
What's changed
- Get Pro, from the app. Pro adds SimBrief and BeyondATC integrations, the Scratchpad, all screen corners and more menu customisation. The Get Pro buttons now open a secure Stripe checkout in your browser. When you've paid, the app picks up your licence key by itself.
- Switch to Pro. Once you've bought it, Switch to Pro on the Home page downloads Pro and restarts the app as Pro, with your settings kept. Then apply (Switch) to put it into the simulator.
- Bought on the website? Choose Enter licence key on the Home page and paste your key.
- A new app icon in the taskbar and the window, matching the website.
Requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Sim Update 7 or later (Microsoft Store or Steam), Windows 10 or 11, and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (part of Windows 11; the app tells you if it's missing).
UI Enhancer Community Edition 0.24.7
UI Enhancer now starts more reliably in the sim, tells you if your simulator is too old for it, and finds the right Community folder for Steam players who once had the Store version.
Install or update
- Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.24.7.zip below and extract it to a folder of your choice (not the Community folder).
- Starts more reliably in the sim. UI Enhancer's first step inside the simulator no longer depends on how the sim reports one small internal image. If an install looked fine but nothing appeared in the menus, update and try again.
- Warns you about an old simulator. UI Enhancer is made for Sim Update 7 and later. If your simulator is older, the Home page now says so and tells you to update it, instead of installing quietly and doing nothing. The app now reads your simulator's own build number for this.
- Right Community folder on Steam. If you play on Steam but once had the Microsoft Store version, the app used to pick the Store version's Community folder, which the Steam sim never reads. It now follows the simulator it finds (including one that's running) and keeps a folder you choose yourself.
- New place on screen: bottom centre. Corner tools can also sit as a small triangle in the middle of the bottom edge. Community still lets you use one place at a time.
- Time of day moves as you drag. Dragging a clock hand changes the simulator's time while you drag, like the sim's own Flight Conditions slider, instead of only when you let go.
- Better help when something's wrong. Copy diagnostics (About & support) now includes your simulator's build number and which settings files were found, so a problem report says where the install went.
Requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Sim Update 7 or later (Microsoft Store or Steam), Windows 10 or 11, and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (part of Windows 11; the app tells you if it's missing).
UI Enhancer Community Edition 0.23.1
Toolbar tooltips can be switched off, and the toolbar tiles from 0.22.11 are fixed.
Install or update
- Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.23.1.zip below and extract it to a folder of your choice (not the Community folder).
- Hide toolbar tooltips. A new switch in the Toolbar panel on the In flight page stops the name labels popping up under the toolbar buttons. It works with or without the diamond tab.
- Toolbar tiles fixed. In 0.22.11 the larger tiles could be cut off at one end of the toolbar, and their icons were too big. The tiles are now the simulator's own button size, so the toolbar fits at any resolution.
Requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Microsoft Store or Steam), Windows 10 or 11, and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (part of Windows 11; the app tells you if it's missing).
UI Enhancer Community Edition 0.22.11
Fixes for the ATC panel and a new look for the in-flight toolbar.
Install or update
- Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.22.11.zip below and extract it to a folder of your choice (not the Community folder).
- Toolbar buttons as tiles. With the diamond toolbar tab on, the toolbar's buttons are larger, separate tiles, so they are easier to hit.
- ATC replies fit the panel. When ATC gives you a long list of replies, such as the nine taxi requests at the gate, the panel grows to fit them instead of spilling over its edge.
- One click on the corner triangle closes the ATC panel, including when the panel popped out by itself for a call. The triangle also turns blue whenever the panel is showing.
- The ATC panel's close button is gone: click the corner triangle to close it.
Requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Microsoft Store or Steam), Windows 10 or 11, and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (part of Windows 11; the app tells you if it's missing).
UI Enhancer Community Edition 0.22.8
A redesigned app: settings you can read at a glance, a simpler In flight page, and safer changes. Favourite aircraft now hides the aircraft picker's Marketplace tab (see below).
Install or update
- Download UIEnhancer-Community-0.22.8.zip below and extract it to a folder of your choice (not the Community folder).
- Settings as a list, with details beside it. Each settings page lists its options with their switches. Click one to see its picture and what it does in a panel on the right. Every setting's description has been rewritten to be clearer.
- New In flight page. It shows a picture of the flight screen. Click a corner, the toolbar or the notifications to set it up in the panel beside the picture. Click an empty corner to choose what goes there.
- The bottom-right corner is the Notifications corner. Choose which notifications you want in its panel; Landing rate is the first.
- Favourite aircraft hides the Marketplace tab. The aircraft picker's tab row only has room for so many tabs, and the Favourites tab would push Marketplace off the end, so the Marketplace tab is hidden while favourite aircraft are on. The Marketplace is still on the home screen.
- Changes are applied with the simulator closed. The "Apply when it closes" option is gone. While the simulator is running, Apply waits until you close it. The simulator only reads add-ons when it starts.
- No more lost changes. Closing the app with unapplied changes asks whether to apply them first. Changes that need administrator rights are applied straight after the app restarts.
- Reset to recommended on every settings page, and for everything at once on Home. Discarding changes can be undone.
- Recommended settings are the defaults. Skipping the first-run setup now gives the same result as choosing Recommended.
- Warnings where you'll see them. Home now tells you if another add-on changes the same menus, or if your simulator version hasn't been tested yet.
- Simulator settings backups. Put back a single changed setting with Undo. Any of the last 20 backups can be restored from the Installation page.
- Search covers every page and opens the setting you pick.
- The window opens larger and remembers its size and position. The app also does less work in the background while you fly.
Requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Microsoft Store or Steam), Windows 10 or 11, and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (part of Windows 11; the app tells you if it's missing).
