What's new

  • Search tab (Ctrl+F): files and folders of the whole scan whose names contain the typed text, ignoring case (Cyrillic included). The 200 largest matches are listed with the total count; a click on a folder makes it the centre of the chart, a click on a file moves into its folder.
  • Largest files tab: the 100 largest files under the centre of the chart, with their folders. Hovering a row highlights the file on the chart.
  • Free space of a drive is shown as a pale grey-blue sector in the first ring when the drive's root is in the centre.
  • Settings are kept between runs: chart metric, colour scheme, Follow in tree, the tab of the left panel, window size and position, tree width, and the last scanned path, which is offered in the path field.
  • Faster directory walk: directories are listed in 64 KiB batches, about 40% faster on a warm cache (C: with ~920 000 entries in about 1.3 seconds instead of 2).
  • MFT scanning of folders: with administrator rights, folders on NTFS drives are scanned through the MFT too, not only whole drives; Fast scan and --mft work for folders as well.
  • Rescan keeps your place: the current folder and the navigation history survive a rescan; if the folder is gone, its closest remaining parent is shown.
  • The tree follows the chart: hovering a sector expands the tree to it (the Follow in tree option), and when the centre changes only the path to it stays expanded, so expanded folders no longer pile up.
  • About window (F1 or the button at the right end of the toolbar) with the version and a link to the project page.
  • Faster start-up with network drives: drives are queried in the background, so a disconnected network drive no longer delays the window.
  • The portable zip now contains only the program.

Downloads

  • Disk_Flashlight_0.3.0_Setup.exe — per-user installer, no administrator rights required; optionally adds Analyze with Disk Flashlight to the context menu of folders and drives.
  • Disk_Flashlight_0.3.0_portable.zip — runs without installation.

The executables are not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn about an unknown publisher on first launch.

  • Вкладка Search (Ctrl+F): файлы и папки всего скана, в имени которых встречается введённый текст, без учёта регистра (в том числе на кириллице). Показываются 200 самых больших совпадений и их общее число; щелчок по папке делает её центром диаграммы, щелчок по файлу переводит в его папку.
  • Вкладка Largest files: 100 самых больших файлов под центром диаграммы с указанием их папок. Наведение на строку подсвечивает файл на диаграмме.
  • Свободное место диска показывается бледным серо-голубым сектором в первом кольце, когда в центре находится корень диска.
  • Настройки сохраняются между запусками: метрика диаграммы, цветовая схема, Follow in tree, вкладка левой панели, размер и положение окна, ширина дерева и последний просканированный путь, который подставляется в поле пути.
  • Более быстрый обход каталогов: каталоги читаются пачками по 64 КиБ, примерно на 40% быстрее на прогретом кэше (C: примерно с 920 000 объектов — около 1,3 секунды вместо 2).
  • Сканирование папок через MFT: с правами администратора через MFT сканируются не только целые диски, но и папки на NTFS-дисках; Fast scan и --mft тоже работают для папок.
  • Повторное сканирование сохраняет место: текущая папка и история навигации сохраняются; если папки больше нет, открывается ближайшая сохранившаяся родительская.
  • Дерево следует за диаграммой: наведение на сектор раскрывает дерево до него (флажок Follow in tree), а при смене центра раскрытыми остаются только папки на пути к нему, так что раскрытые папки больше не накапливаются.
  • Окно About (F1 или кнопка в конце панели инструментов) с версией и ссылкой на страницу проекта.
  • Быстрый запуск при сетевых дисках: диски опрашиваются в фоне, поэтому отключённый сетевой диск больше не задерживает появление окна.
  • Портативный архив теперь содержит только программу.

Файлы

  • Disk_Flashlight_0.3.0_Setup.exe — установщик для текущего пользователя, права администратора не требуются; по желанию добавляет пункт Анализировать в Disk Flashlight в контекстное меню папок и дисков.
  • Disk_Flashlight_0.3.0_portable.zip — работает без установки.

Исполняемые файлы не подписаны, поэтому при первом запуске Windows SmartScreen может предупредить о неизвестном издателе.
