This project has reached a state where I can turn it in for a second time at university and if you wanted you could actually use it for something.

Feature demo

I'm proud to present to you the first (pre) release of python--!<

18 days after creating the project files it's ready to be shown to the world, and to be presented.

But what is it capable of?

Well, I managed to get all the features I predicted to work, so there's:

• variables of 2 types
• global and local variables
• if and else flow control statements
• while loops
• variables local to if/while statements
• value returning functions
• custom function defining with returns at any point
• a (very) small standard library that is very easy to add to
• exception system that allows for skipping over many mistakes
• interpreter that takes input from user
• bash command support (windows command line not tested)
• and much more
  Standard library will be expanded upon in the future and examples will be added

So get on with it and try this bad boy out!
