GlucoDesk v0.3.0-preview — Glucose awareness notifications

This preview release introduces the first production-ready glucose awareness notification flow for GlucoDesk, together with UI polish, macOS notification packaging, release validation scripts, and installable preview artifacts for macOS and Windows.

GlucoDesk remains a local-first desktop glucose companion. It is designed to help users stay aware of recent glucose trends while working, without replacing approved diabetes applications or medical devices.

macOS notes

The macOS build includes a native notification helper bundled inside the app package:

GlucoDesk.app/Contents/Helpers/GlucoDeskNotificationHelper.app

On first use, macOS may ask permission for GlucoDesk Notifications. Allow notifications if you want desktop glucose awareness prompts.

This preview build may be unsigned or not notarized. If macOS blocks the app on first launch, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.

Windows notes

The Windows x64 package includes the preview installer for testing on Windows machines.

The macOS notification helper is macOS-only and does not affect the Windows build.

This preview packages the current GlucoDesk desktop app for macOS and Windows, with updated installation flows, platform-specific README files, and clearer first-launch instructions for unsigned preview builds.

macOS first launch

The macOS preview builds may be unsigned or not notarized.

The DMG supports drag-to-Applications installation, but macOS Gatekeeper may block the app on first launch.

If that happens:

1. Click Done or close the warning dialog.
2. Open System Settings.
3. Go to Privacy & Security.
4. Find the GlucoDesk warning.
5. Click Open Anyway.
6. Confirm with password or Touch ID.
7. Launch GlucoDesk again from Applications.

This is normally required only once.

Windows first launch

The Windows preview build is not code-signed.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show a warning because the installer is not yet recognized.

If that happens:

1. Click More info.
2. Verify that the app name is the GlucoDesk installer downloaded from this GitHub Release.
3. Click Run anyway.

On Italian Windows, the buttons may appear as Ulteriori informazioni and Esegui comunque.

Preview limitations

• This is a preview build intended for validation and feedback.
• macOS builds are not currently notarized.
• Windows builds are not currently code-signed.
• Local history may be incomplete.
• Provider behavior depends on configuration and external service availability.
