GlucoDesk 0.2.2 Preview

GlucoDesk is a private, local-first desktop companion for glucose awareness.

This preview packages the current GlucoDesk desktop app for macOS and Windows, with updated installation flows, platform-specific README files, and clearer first-launch instructions for unsigned preview builds.

Safety notice

GlucoDesk is not a medical device.

It must not be used for insulin dosing, treatment decisions, diagnosis, emergency notifications, alarms, or safety-critical decisions.

Always rely on approved CGM apps, pump systems, and healthcare professionals for medical decisions.

macOS first launch

The macOS preview builds may be unsigned or not notarized.

The DMG supports drag-to-Applications installation, but macOS Gatekeeper may block the app on first launch.

If that happens:

  1. Click Done or close the warning dialog.
  2. Open System Settings.
  3. Go to Privacy & Security.
  4. Find the GlucoDesk warning.
  5. Click Open Anyway.
  6. Confirm with password or Touch ID.
  7. Launch GlucoDesk again from Applications.

This is normally required only once.

Windows first launch

The Windows preview build is not code-signed.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show a warning because the installer is not yet recognized.

If that happens:

  1. Click More info.
  2. Verify that the app name is the GlucoDesk installer downloaded from this GitHub Release.
  3. Click Run anyway.

On Italian Windows, the buttons may appear as Ulteriori informazioni and Esegui comunque.

Preview limitations

  • This is a preview build intended for validation and feedback.
  • macOS builds are not currently notarized.
  • Windows builds are not currently code-signed.
  • Local history may be incomplete.
  • Provider behavior depends on configuration and external service availability.
  • Export/reporting features are still evolving.
