##Site Description

Revell Sink is a karst window on private land approximately 3.95 miles southwest of the main vent of Wakulla Springs. The main body of the sink is divided into two portions, the circular southern half and the long, narrow northern half. The sink itself is small for a karst feature in this area, measuring only 215 ft. long by 62 ft. wide and appears from the surface to be quite shallow. It is filled year round with tannic, stagnant water.

The WKPP divers report that a narrow fissure in the limestone lies at the bottom of the sink. This fissure is narrow enough that further descent requires the divers to remove their tanks in order to fit. The divers report that the fissure eventually terminates in a karst conduit filled with flowing, clear water.

The flow velocities in the Revell conduit have reached a maximum flow of 275.819 cm/s in the time it has been monitored; only Spring Creek 10 has achieved faster flow velocities while being monitored.

The surface elevation of the water is tidally influenced, and rises and falls in harmony with the tidal stage.

##Quality Concerns
Very little is known about the flow geometry of the conduit underneath Revell Sink. More information has been requested from the WKPP divers.
