Module cam mod DSIDE_v0.2

Overview

Every camera record, i.e. each camera image capture, is assumed to be logged with a timestamp corresponding to the record time according to device assembly internal shared clock. This extraction module is responsible for camera record timestamp extraction.

Module nomenclature

This extraction module is device-specific and waits logs coming from camera devices. It is responsible of timestamps extraction used to tag the captured images in order to synchronize them with position and orientation device measures. The integer unitary stream it initiates can carry the same timestamps than those carried by the synchronization component of the stream or be different. This is made so to ensure library scalability according to device assembly.

Module interface

This section gives a summary of the module interface in terms of streams and devices. The order of devices and streams is given as waited by the module. The devices interface is given by :

device( Physical ) Specific camera device

The stream input interface is :

stream( Device specific | CAM ) Specific camera device logs

and the stream output interface is :

stream( Integer unitary | CAM ) Camera record timestamps

Module operation

This extraction module has to know the considered camera device in order to call the specific extraction sub-module. Currently, the following camera models are handled :

• Elphel Eyesis4Pi
• Elphel NC353L-369-IMU-GPS

For now, only Elphel camera devices are considered, but any device assembly that ensure measures synchronization can be easely implemented in the library.
